ObjectiveIn this study,by contrast with the conventional acupuncture,it will explore the efficacy and superiority of embedding thread in treatment of knee osteoarthritis, which will help with selecting more advantageous treatment methods for clinical application.Methods60 samples patients with knee osteoarthritis who met the criteria of this study were gathered by the Department of Acupuncture Clinic of the Second Hospital in Guangdong Province and the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine from January 2017 to December 2017.Samples were randomly divided into two groups. One is the experimental group of 30 cases, which the patients are with knee and pain sites by the tendons looking for positive reaction point embedding treatment;the other one grOoup is control group of 30 cases, which will be treating by conventional acupuncture treatment.Experimental group will be tested every weekly and be given 4 treatment ti.mes for one special course of treatment. The control group was treated 2 times a week(intermediate interval 3 days)and 8 times for a course of treatment. Those two groups were treated for a course of treatment.Prior to the study, baseline data(age, sex, course of disease)of two groups of patients with barbwire embedding and conventional acupuncture, they would be compared by comparability, which data was obtained before and after treatment respectively. The pain evaluation index VAS score and knee osteoarthritis WOMAC scale knee pain showed stiffness and daily activities of the joint difficulty of the score.Total score as well as the scores before and after treatment would make the appropriate comparison between groups and groups. The final the overall efficacy of the two groups was compared according to the efficacy evaluation criteria.ResultsBefore treatment,VAS score of pain evaluation index, knee pain and stiffness of knee osteoarthritis WOMAC scale, scores of total scores of difficulty in daily joint activities were compared between the two groups. There was no significant difference(P>0.05)between these two groups' patients. At the end of treatment course, the two groups of patients in the pain evaluation index VAS score, knee osteoarthritis WOMAC scale joint pain, stiffness and joint daily activity difficulty score.would lower than before treatment. The difference was statistically(P<0.05),which indicated that the tendon embedding method and conventional acupuncture can effectively improve knee joint pain, stiffness and physiological function. After treatment,in terms of improving the evaluation of pain indicators, the two groups were comparable in curative effect of relieving joint pain while cooperation went with the conventional acupuncture groups. The VAS score, joint pain score and the score of joint pain between the two groups before and after treatment was no significant difference between the pain index scores(P<0.05).In terms of improving the stiffness of joints, the difficulty of daily activities and the improvement of the overall score of joint activities, the group of barbwire embedding was significantly better than conventional acupuncture group. The scores of joint stiffness, daily activity, total score showed differences between scores before and after treatment, which was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the last treatment, the overall curative effect of the two groups was also compared, the difference was also statistically significant(P<0.05),which indicated that the tendon embedding treatment of knee osteoarthritis was significantly better than conventional acupuncture.ConclusionBoth tendon embedding method and conventional acupuncture for treatment of knee osteoarthritis have significant effect in relieving joint stiffness and improving joint activity. The treatment by tendon embedding method is superior to conventional acupuncture, and its overall effect is higher than conventional acupuncture treatment.
