ObjectiveTo explore the clinical efficacy and superiority of the treatment of knee osteoarthritis from the angle of tendons with the comparison of conventional acupuncture points.Methods60 patients with knee osteoarthritis are randomly divided into experimental group and control group(n = two),each with a total of 30 cases.Experimental group are treated with the positive reaction points on the tendon lines which close to the pain of the knee joint and its surrounding area, and control group are treated with traditional acupuncture. Two groups of the same four courses of treatment with one time every other day, three times a week as one course of treatment. The interval of two days is needed after each course of treatment. The first assessment of efficacy evaluation after four courses of treatment,a follow-up study was made one month after all treatments. The clinical efficacy was evaluated by VAS and WOMAC scores before and after the treatment as well as a follow-up study.Results1 The baseline characteristics:before treatment, there were no significant difference in gender, age, course of disease and every score between two groups(P>0.05).2.Overall efficacy comparison between groups:(1)after treatment.the total effective rate of the experimental group was 96.67%,the control group was 86.67%.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).(2)During follow-up,the total effective rate of the experimental group was 90%,the control group was 80%.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).3.The comparison of scores within each group before and after treatment showed significant differences(P<0.05).4.After the treatment, there was significant difference between the score groups(P<0.05).5.Comparison of the scores within each group between follow-up and after the treatment:In the experimental group, there was a significant difference in the scores of pain, the difficulty of daily activities and the total score of WOMAC(P<0.05),while the stiffiness score showed no significant difference(P>0.05).In the control group, there was a significant difference in the scores of pain(P<0.05),while the scores of stiffiness, daily activities and the total score of WOMAC showed no significant difference(P>0.05).6.Comparison of the scores between two groups during after the treatment and follow-up study:There was a significant difference in the scores of pain, daily activities and the total score of WOMAC(P<0.05),while the scores of stiffiness showed no significant difference between(P>0.05).Conclusion1.Two kinds of treatment of Knee osteoarthritis are effective in clinical curative effect, but the overall efficacy of the experimental group is better than that of control group.2.In terms of alleviating pain, relieving stiffiness, reducing difficulty in activity of daily living and improving whole symptoms with KOA,experimental group is better than control group. And the sustained improvement effect of experimental group in pain, daily exercise difficulty and overall symptoms is better than the control group, the improvement in stiffiness of the two groups had no obvious sustained effect.
