Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Knee Osteoarthritis By The Tendons Theoretical Guidance Prickly Method

Purpose After analyzing clinical data of patients with knee osteoarthritis(KOA)and observing the cure effect of Channel Tendon Therapy on KOA,this thesis,hereby,aims to figure out a safe,economical and effective therapeutic method for the clinical treatment.Research materials and method60 patients of KOA,who meet the inclusion criteria but not the exclusion criteria,are involved in this study samples.They are randomly divided into two groups,namely the conventional acupuncture group and the Channel Tendon Therapy group,according to their hospital registration numbers.The treatment of the former group is based on the meridian theory;as for the acupoints selection,I refer to Acupuncture Therapy,the "12th Five-Year plan" textbook.There are three rounds of electro-acupuncture(2Hz,dilatational wave,and different intensity are employed according to the patients' tolerance)after Qi arrived,and the needle retaining should be lasted for 30 minutes with conventional depth of acupuncture.However,The treatment of the latter group is based on the Muscle region theory,regarding "taking pain spot as accupunctive point" as a principle;the lesion selection refers to China meridian theory and filiform needles are employed in the triple puncture.The rest proceedings are the same with the conventional group.Each Patient of the two groups has a respective acupuncture therapy daily for fifteen days.They both have VAS and WOMAC scales and clinical efficacy evaluations before and after the treatment,as well as analyses of the experimental data with statistical methods.3 months after the patients are out of hospital call-backs have been made to them.Results1.Basic information of the patients: 60 KOA patients in this research are all from the Rheumatology and Acupuncture Clinic and Ward of Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Affiliated Hospital of Hubei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.They are randomly divided into two groups(the conventional acupuncture group and the Channel Tendon Therapy group)according to their hospital registration numbers.The basic data of the two groups are statistically analyzed,which shows that their p values are both greater than 0.05 and there exists no statistical differences,indicating that these two groups are of great comparability.2.Before the patients enrollment: they both have VAS and WOMAC scale scores and assessments of clinical severity.After an initial condition comparison and statistical analyses between and of the two groups,it turns out that their p values are both greater than 0.05,which means no statistical significance.For there is no statistical difference of their illness before their enrollments,the two groups have comparability.3.After the patients enrollment: they both have VAS and WOMAC scale scores and assessments of clinical severity.Comparison within group: the statistical analysis of the patients' illness before and after treatment evidences that their p values are both under 0.05,a sign of great statistical significance,which shows that both the conventional acupuncture therapy and the Channel Tendon Therapy are of good curative effect.Comparison between groups: the comparison of the patients' illness between the two groups after their enrollment shows that both of their p values are under 0.05,a sign of statistical significance.The total effective rate of the Channel Tendon Therapy group is 90.00%,and the conventional acupuncture group is 83.33%,which identifies that the Channel Tendon Therapy is superior to the conventional acupuncture therapy.4.The call-back result of their illness respectively: A call-back has been made to the patients 3 months after they are out of hospital,which displays as the following:5 people of the conventional acupuncture group relapse,and the recurrence rate is 16.67%;while there are only 2of the Channel Tendon Therapy group suffer relapse and the recurrence rate 6.67%.it's obvious that the Channel Tendon Therapy enjoys a lower recurrence rate,which indicates that when it comes to long-term disease control,the Tendon Therapy is much more satisfying.Conclusion With full research and analysis,both therapies are proven to be highly effective on KOA and patients of the two groups both enjoyed Improvement according to their VAS score and WOMAC analysis of their pain,stiffness and daily activities.While,the Channel Tendon Therapy is superior to the conventional one.In the comparative research,it can be concluded that the Channel Tendon Therapy is much more effective in disease treatment and the long-term disease control,and whose operation is also much more convenient and efficient.Thus it can be seen that the Channel Tendon Therapy is the ideal therapy for the treatment of KOA which should be popularized.
