Clinical Case Reports For The Application Of Digital Technology In ALL-ceramic Restoration

Objective: the purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical performance and patient satisfaction of CAD/CAM-generated all-ceramic restoration in dental or dentition defect?Method: 5 patients were selected,who needed all-ceramic restoration in prosthodontics department of Dalian Stomatological Hospital from March 2017 to January 2018.Inclusion Criteria:1.No systematic history.2.Discoloration teeth,it is not suitable for other ways or patients to require beautiful and permanent repair.3.Patients require all-ceramic restoration.4.No loosened teeth.Complete treatment of gingivitis,pulpitis and no clinical symptoms.5.Patients who can cooperate well and follow advices.Research Method : 1.Understand the needs of the patients and to develop a fixed prosthesis plan after communication with the patients.2.Clinical examination,prognosis and history-taking.3.removing the faulty restoration and treatment of caries,periodontitis and root apical disease were required before the final restoration.4.Preparation of tooth according to the fixed prosthesis standard.5.Shade selection.6.Using a digital scanner(3 Shape TRIOS)to obtain a virtual model,design the restoration by CAD software and uses CAM software to guide the milling machine to mplete the restoration.7.Try-in of the final restorations and cementation.8.Recording the satisfaction of patients,follow-up after treatment and re-evaluation of clinical performance according to the modified USPHS criteria.Results: The patient's overall satisfaction is very satisfactory.All the examinations according to the modified USPHS criteria achieve A grade,including the marginal integrity,anatomic form,proximal contact,occlusal relationships,postoperative sensitivity and gingival condition.Conclusion:The color and transparency of all-ceramic restorations are similar with the natural teeth and good bio-compatible.With the the application of the machinable ceramic block,it makes possible to use all-ceramic restoration in the area with great bite force,especially in the posterior teeth.The introduction of computer technology has provided a new way for the production of restorations,doctors and technicians can make a more intuitive and subtle adjustment of the restoration on the design software.With the limited observation period of this study,all the restorations made by digital technology has good clinical performance,the satisfaction of patient is high.So on the premise of choosing the right way of restoration,the all-ceramic restoration can meet the clinical requirements of fixed prosthesis and it can also reduce the cumulative error caused by conventional method.The digital technology provides a new method of teeth restoration for both dentists and patients.
