ObjectiveTo explore the correlation between level of estradiol in serum and severity of knee osteoarthritis?KOA?in postmenopausal female.MethodsThis study selected 133 postmenopausal women with knee osteoarthritis from the Department of Orthopedics and Endocrinology of the Jining First People's Hospital from March 2016 to March 2017 as experimental groups. Each patient underwent knee X-ray film, and divided into mild KOA group?n=40?,moderate KOA group?n=48?and severe KOA group?n=45?according to K-L grades of knee joint.40 healthy postmenopausal female who underwent physical examination were selected as controls. The age, menopause age, weight and height of each experimental group and control group members were recorded. The body mass index?BMI?,body weight?kg?/height2?m2?,was calculated from the height and weight values. All of the subjects were sampled with fasting blood to detect E2?FPG?TC?LDL-C?HDL-C?TG.In the experimental group,X-ray radiography of knee were performed by uDR,MR T2-mapping imaging of knee were performed with PHILPS 3.0T Ingenia?,the WOMAC scale for knee joint function assessment. The data were analyzed with SPSS19.0software.Results?1?There was no significant difference in the age?menopause age?body mass index?BMI??serum lipids?TG?TC?LDL-C?HDL-C?and fasting plasma glucose?FPG?between postmenopausal knee osteoarthritis group and control group?P>0.05?.?2?The level of E2 in postmenopausal KOA group was significantly lower than that of normal group?P=0.000?.?3?There was no significant difference in age?menopause age?BMI?TC?TG?FPG?LDL-C and HDL-C between the mild, moderate and severe knee osteoarthritis group?P>0.05?.?4?In KOA group, the more severe the KOA was,the lower serum E2 level was,and the higher WOMAC score and T2 value were. The light the KOA was,the higher the serum E2level was,and the lower the WOMAC score and T2 value were.?5?The levels of serum E2 were negatively correlated with WOMAC scores and T2 values?r=-0.714 and-0.507?.ConclusionThe level of serum estradiol in postmenopausal female with osteoarthritis is significantly lower than that in normal postmenopausal female, and the severity of knee osteoarthritis increases with decreasing serum estradiol levels.
