Objective The degeneration of articular cartilage is the main pathophysiological change of osteoarthritis.MRI examination has the advantages of noninvasive and sensitive, which can be used to diagnose osteoarthritis and display cartilage defects and adjacent bone structure changes. The purpose of this study is to investigate the 3.0T MRI T2 mapping and T1?quantitative imaging in osteoarthritis of the knee articular cartilage degeneration in clinical application. Methods The study group From December 2016 to October-2017,56 cases of knee osteoarthritis were diagnosed as knee osteoarthritis in our hospital.Another 18 healthy knees were selected as normal control group. All patients and normal control group were treated with 3.0T MRI(GE MR750)and T2 mapping scan and T1?scan.The degeneration of articular cartilage was graded according to the ICRS standard, and the OA group was divided into mild OA group and severe OA group.Processing the scanned images at the post processing workstation at the GE ADW4.6,T2 mapping and T1?package generated pseudo color by Functool software,to measure the value of the T2 and T1?in normal control group, mild OA group and severe OA group of the medial femoral condyle central, medial femoral posterior, lateral femoral condyle anterior, lateral femoral central, lateral femoral posterior.Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 20 statistical software, and the relationship between T2 and T1?values were compared between groups. Results Severe OA group, mild OA group and normal control group of knee articular cartilage generated T2 mapping and T1? for different color.Severe OA group, mild OA group of femoral articular cartilage and partition T2 and T1?values were higher than the normal control group in each sub partition of femoral articular cartilage of T2 and T1?,the difference was statistically significant;Severe OA group of femoral articular cartilage in each partition T1? value is higher than the mild OA group of femoral articular cartilage partition T1?value,there are statistically significant differences between the two groups(P < 0.05);there was no significant difference in T2 value between severe OA group articular cartilage and mild OA group articular cartilage of femur subdivision,There was no significant difference between the two groups(P > 0.05).Each group and partition T2,T1? with moderate intensity correlation. Conclusion T2 mapping and T1?component of cartilage tissue imaging can reflect the change of the effective joint OA,and was significantly associated with articular cartilage degeneration. The severity of OA was assessed by the value of T2 and T1?,and has acertain correlation between the two.The complementarity of the two has important clinical value in the early diagnosis, progress monitoring and evaluation of OA.
