Objectives: The study was aimed to explore the current situation of medical students' food safety cognitive level,to analyze the influencing factors of medical college students' food safety cognitive level.Take some corresponding interventions for the purpose of providing theoretical basis for improving medical college students' food safety knowledge,attitude and behavior.Methods:This study was a descriptive study.A total of 400 students were selected as study participants by convenient sampling method from September 2015 to September 2016.These participants were college students who majored in Nursing,Chinese medicine,acupuncture and massage science,medical nutrition,from Shandong College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.The study questionnaire was designed according to the KAP model of health education.The contents of the questionnaire contained the basic information of the students,such as gender,age,grade;the cognitive level of food safety and the attitude and behavior of food safety.Data came form the investigation established a database and carryed out a statistical analysis by applying SPSS19.0 statisctial software.Results:The average score of the 400 participants was 13.28 ± 4.21,and the passing rate was 56.8%(the score was higher than 13 point).Freshmen score was12.79±4.23,which was lower than the score of sophomores(14.54±4.27).Difference between the two groups had statistical significance(P<0.05).The score of participants who were students majoring in medical nutrition(14.54±4.27)was significantly higher than those who majoring in nursing,Chinese medicine and acupuncture.Participants with food expenditure in 100-100 yuan per month scored lower than those with food spending above 300 yuan per month.There was a statistical difference(P<0.05).Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis showed that: grade,major,food expense,whether to study food safety-related courses are the main factors affecting the level of food safety knowledge.Conclusion:The level of food safety awareness of students was located on the middle position.It requires further improve.School management staff need to take some steps to raise the level of food safety awareness for different grades,different professions,food monthly expenditure,studied food safety related courses.
