Evaluation Of The Effectiveness Of Rehabilitation Skills Training On Patients With Mental Disorders In Rural Areas

Objectives:To intervene the patients with mental disorders in stable period for twelve weeks by the“Community Rehabilitation Family” mode of Basic Needs mental health services and development model in Yi county,and evaluate the patients' social function,quality of life,etc.Exploring the necessity and importance of process mental health disorders rehabilitation activities in rural area of our country,and to establish and promote the mental disorders' community rehabilitation model in rural area.Methods:Thirty patients with mental disorders who met the inclusion criteria and volunteered to participate in community rehabilitation were selected as rehabilitation group,thirty patients who were matched with age and sex in rehabilitation group were selected as control group.On the basis of routine drug intervention,the rehabilitation group receive the skills training activities of Basic Needs model,while the control group was only treated with conventional medicine.The intervention effect of the two group were evaluated at baseline and at the end of 12 weeks.Results:1.The rehabilitation group were significantly improved on self-care,interpersonal interaction,life activities,social participation and total score in the WHO Disability Rating Scale.The difference was significantly(P<0.05).2.As for the general function,there was a significant difference in rehabilitation group compared with the control group(P<0.05),and the rehabilitation group showed significant improvement before intervention.3.In terms of health status,rehabilitation group showed a good improvement effect after skill training,and all indicators were statistically significant(P<0.05).4.In terms of quality of life,rehabilitation group achieved significant intervention effect in health status,physiological field and social relationship area and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).5.The medicine compliance of rehabilitation group and control group was all significantly improved after the conventional drug intervention(P<0.05).6.The family care burden of rehabilitation group was significantly reduced after skill training(P<0.05).Conclusion:The mode of Community Rehabilitation Family in Basic Needs mental health service and development model can significantly improve the social function of patients in rural area.The patients with mental disorders in the stable period after hospitalization and outpatient can get the professional skills training,so that they could recover their daily life ability and their communication skills in a relatively loose,open and harmonious environment,which could help them to return to society smoothly.
