Objective: To compare the effects of acupoint injection and intravenous injection of dexamethasone on postoperative inflammatory exudation and Albumin Level in patients undergoing gastrointestinal surgery. Methods: 60 cases of elective gastrointestinal surgery under general anesthesia were randomly divided into three groups,20 cases in each group.C group(control group):preoperative acupoint injection of 2ml saline;A group(acupoint injection group):preoperative acupoint injection of 5mg dexamethasone at both Zusanli acupoint.;B group(intravenous injection group): preoperative intravenous injection of 10 mg dexamethasone. Then we recorded the albumin levels, white blood cells levels and total protein levels of the three groups in the first, third and seven days after the operation. Results: The albumin levels of patients in A group were significantly higher than that in C group and B group in the first day after operation, and for A and B groups, the white blood cells levels were lower than the C group while the total protein levels were higher than that of C group(P<0.05);in the third day after operation,A,B group were lower than C group on white blood cells levels, while albumin and total protein were higher than C group(P<0.05),but there were no significant differences between the two groups(P>0.05);in the seventh day after operation, each group of white blood cells, albumin and total protein levels were not significantly different(P>0.05)Conclusions: Acupoint injection of dexamethasone and intravenous injection of dexamethasone could similarly reduce inflammatory exudation and hypoproteinemia after gastrointestinal surgery, and the effect of Acupoint injection is stronger than that of intravenous injection.
