ObjectsTo research the situation of psychological capital,work stress,professional identity,and job well-being of ICU nurses,and to analyze the correlation among the psychological capital,work stress,professional identity and job well-being,and to explore the path of psychological capital,work stress,professional identity and job well-being on quality of life,thereby providing reference for hospital nurse managers.MethodsThe study is a cross-sectional survey.Through the use of convenient sampling method,a total of 314 ICU nurses were enrolled in this study from January to March 2017 in Jining,Shandong Province,in two tertiary A hospital,including integrated ICU,emergency ICU,cardiac surgery ICU,and pediatric ICU.The questionnaires included the ICU Nurse’s General Information Questionnaire,Psychological Capital Questionnaire,Chinese Nurse Work Stress Inventory,Professional Identity Scale,and Nurses’ Job Well-being Scale.The Statistical package of SPSS22.0 and AMOS21.0 were used to analyze all of the data.The main statistical analysis methods included: destriptive analysis,independent sample t test,one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA),Pearson correlation analysis,Multivariate linearregressionanalysisandstructural equationmodel.Results1.The average score for psychological capital of ICU nurses was 91.85±12.71,it was Optimistic,self-efficiency,resiliency,hope arranging from high to low.And the influencing factors of psychological capital included monthly income,ICU specialist nurse training certificate and Monthly average night shift.2.The average score for work pressure of ICU nurses was 74.30±13.67,it was workload and time allocation dimension,nursing work and professional,working environment and equipment,patient care management and interpersonal relationships arranging from high to low.And the influencing factors of work pressure included department,age and Monthly average night shift.3.The average score for professional identity of ICU nurses was 112.46±17.79,it was professional self-reflection,professional frustration coping,professional social support,professional cognition evaluation and professional social skills.And the influencing factors of professional identity included monthly income and monthly average night shift.4.The average score for job well-being of ICU nurses was 85.91±13.94,it was interpersonal,managerial,work value,benefits,and job characteristics.And psychological capital,work stress,professional identity,and monthly salary were the major predictors of job well-being 。5.The psychological capital of ICU nurses and all dimensions were positively correlated with job well-being(P<0.01).The ICU nurses’ work stress and its various dimensions were negatively correlated with job well-being(P<0.01).The professional identity of ICU nurses and all dimensions were positively correlated with job well-being(P<0.01).6.Structural equation model showed that psychological capital may predict job well-being directly forward positive way(β=0.266,P<0.05),work pressure had a negative predictive role on job well-being(β=-0.217,P<0.05),professional identity had a positive predictive role on job well-being(β=0.520,P<0.05).In the path of work pressure for job well-being,professional identity played a part of intermediary role,and the mediating effect values respectively accounted for 50.57% of the total effect.In the path of professional identity for job well-being,psychological capital played a part of intermediary role,and the mediating effect values respectively accounted for 27.48% of the total effect.In the path of work pressure for job well-being,professional identity and psychological capital played a part of intermediary role,and the mediating effect values respectively accounted for 47.46% of the total effect.ConclusionsMonthly income,ICU specialist nurse training certificate and Monthly average night shift,there were a certain degree of impact on psychological capital of ICU nurses.Department,age and Monthly average night shift,there were a certain degree of impact on work pressure of ICU nurses.Monthly income and monthly average night shift,there were a certain degree of impact on professional identity of ICU nurses.Psychological capital,work stress,professional identity,and monthly salary were the major predictors of job well-being There were positive correlations between psychological capital,professional identity and job well-being,and work pressure were negatively correlated with well-being.Work pressure may directly affect job well-being,and professional identity can also be used as mediating variables to adjust the impact of rumination on job well-being;professional identity may directly affect job well-being,and psychological capital can also be used as mediating variables to adjust the impact of rumination on job well-being.;Work pressure may directly affect job well-being,and psychological capital,professional identity can also be used as mediating variables to adjust the impact of rumination on job well-being.
