Objectives:To investigate the current situation of nurses' work pressure, professional identity and missed nursing care,as well as demographic differences. To explore the correlation among nurses' work pressure, professional identity and missed nursing care; This paper discusses the mediating effect of professional identity and analyzes the deep reasons of the influence of work pressure on missed nursing care.In order to cause the managers and educators to pay attention to the work pressure of nurses, improve the professional identity of nurses and provide scientific basis for reducing the missed nursing care. Methods:n this study, convenience sampling method was adopted to select nurses from 3 first-class hospital at Grade iii-a general hospitals in Bengbu city,Anhui province for questionnaire survey.A total of 680 questionnaires were issued,637 of which were recovered,596 of which were valid, with an effective recovery rate of 87.7%.The survey tools included general data questionnaire, work stressors scale, professional identity rating scale and missed nursing care scale. The collected data were input by Excel2016 and analyzed by SPSS21.0 software. The statistical analysis methods were descriptive statistical analysis, independent sample T test,one-way analysis of variance,Pearson correlation analysis, and multivariate linear stepwise regression analysis.Results:1.The overall score of nurses' work stress was(74.52±15.32),and the average score was(2.12±0.44).The average score of the five dimensions of nurses' work stress was from high to low, namely, time allocation and workload(2.41±0.71),nursing professional and work(2.28 ± 0.54),the patient care(2.21 ± 0.46),working environment and equipment(2.09±0.71),management and interpersonal relations(1.77±0.49).2.The total score of nurses' professional identity was(102.00±18.47),and the average score was(3.40±0.62).The average score of the five dimensions of nurses' professional identity was from high to low, namely, occupational social support(3.54±0.60),occupational self-reflection(3.51±0.69),occupational frustration coping(3.50±0.64),occupational cognitive evaluation(3.29±0.70),and occupational social skills(3.27±0.66).3.The total score of missed nursing care was(14.00±12.85)and the average score was(0.58±0.54).535 nurses(89.8%)missed at least one nursing activity in clinical work, most often missed five nursing activities timely change for patients in bed unit, clean and care for patients in need, provide emotional support for the patient and/or family,to help patients turn over every 2 hours, diet guidance to patients.4.The differences of nurses' work stress scores in different ages, marital status, whether there are children, number of children, professional title, working years, monthly income and weekly working hours were statistically significant(P < 0.05).The differences of nurses' professional identity scores in different departments, age, marital status, children, number of children, professional title and working years were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were statistically significant differences in scores of missed nursing care among different ages, marital status, children or not, number of children, monthly income, weekly working hours, and number of patients in charge(P < 0.05).5.There is a significant correlation between nurses' work stress, professional identity and missed nursing care. The scores of nurses' work stress and its five dimensions were negatively correlated with the scores of nurses' professional identity and its five dimensions(P<0.01).The scores of nurses' work stress and its five dimensions were positively correlated with the score of missed nursing care(P<0.01).The scores of professional identity and its five dimensions were negatively correlated with the score of missed nursing care(P<0.01).6.Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis of missed nursing care showed that the independent variables that finally entered the regression equation were management and interpersonal relationship, career setback response, and monthly income. The results of variance analysis showed that the regression equation was statistically significant(F=35.550,P=0.000<0.05),and the three variables could effectively explain the 14.8% variation of missed nursing care.7.Nurse professional identity plays a part in mediating work stress and missed nursing care.Conclusions:1.The work stress of nurses is at a medium level; The professional identity of nurses is medium level;Missed nursing care is common in clinical nursing.2.The greater the work stress of nurses, the lower the professional identity level of nurses, and the more missed nursing care.3.The work stress of nurses can reduce the impact on missed nursing care through the role of professional identity.
