In the face of the growing population aging in China, especially the increasing number of disabled and semi-disabled people, the maintenance of the elderly's survival rights and the protection of old-age security have become important social problems. With the constant weakening of family nursing function, the elderly nursing occupation has emerged and becomes the urgent and rigid demand. The elderly nursing is based on human nature and humanitarianism for the vulnerable groups of the elderly, and also the embodiment of the traditional virtue of respecting the elderly. Therefore, the elderly nursing occupation is an important guarantee for the survival support and life value of the elderly,so it is moral necessity of good. However,in the practice of nursing,on the one hand,it is common for elderly patients to be neglect, indifferent, perfunctory, dismissive, estranged, rude, disrespectful and even occasionally abusive,on the other hand, the elderly care is limited to material and technical level, and lack psychological care and humanistic care. The improper behaviors frequently occur, which cast a shadow on the physical and mental health of the frail elderly patients. That exposes the loss of human rights value in the elderly care behavior, the loss of nurse's ethics and the economic rationality, which are the ethic reasons for the improper behaviors. From the ethical level, the moral connotation and ethical orientation in the elderly nursing profession and nursing behavior lay the ethical foundation for nursing profession, and then ensure the nursing code of conduct and healthy development. From the value level, humanism value, life ethic value and respect value are the primary values to be reflected in the standard of nursing behavior of the elderly. They are the value and ethical basis of human-oriented nursing.Support, action and care reflect the moral obligation norm for nursing, and are ethics requirements for the elderly care.Nursing profession must also be bound by the social ethics such as respecting the old age, fairness and justice, and the disadvantaged group, which are important embodiment of socialist virtue, principle and state function. The standardized development of old-age nursing behavior should primarily be based on the basic ethical principles of respect principle,non-harm principle, beneficence principle and fair principle. At the same time,we should follow the integrity of physical and mental unity, impartiality of personality, respect and care.Through strengthening the ethics construction of the elderly nursing profession, improving the scientific nursing level and improving the code of practice for geriatric nursing,we can achieve the standardization of nursing behavior.
