Clinical Observation Of Muscle Meridian Manipulation Of Zhuang Medicine With Segmental Chiropractic Therapy In The Treatment Of Back Myofascial Pain Syndrome

Objective: To evaluate clinical curative effect objectively of muscle meridian manipulation of Zhuang medicine with segmental chiropractic therapy to treat back myofascial pain syndrome by clinical observation,so as to discover a kind of rational and optimized therapeutic schedule for the purpose of seeking better clinical application and promotion.Method: 60 patients who were in accordance with inclusion criteria were selected to be divided into observation group(30 patients)and control group(30 patients)randomly.The patients in the observation group received muscle meridian manipulation of Zhuang medicine with segmental chiropractic therapy,while those in the control group received conventional massage therapy(by referring to Massage Iatreusiology edited by Song Bailin and Yu Tianyuan,published by People's Medical Publishing House,which is the planned teaching material in “the Twelfth Five-Year Plan”).They were treated once every two days,for two consecutive courses of treatment with 3 times for one course of treatment.The simplified McGill rating scale including pain rating index(PRI),visual analogue scale(VAS)and present pain intensity(PPI)was used as clinical observation indexes.Then the data were collected,collated and recorded,and statistical analysis was performed by SPSS13.0 software.Results: 1.Before treatment,the difference of general information(sex,age and course of treatment)between the two groups had no statistical significance(P>0.05)after chi-square test and t test,with comparability between the two groups.After treatment,in the observation group(30 patients),there were 2 patients who were basically healed,18 patients with marked effect,8 patients with effect,and 4 patients without effect,with total effective rate of 96.67%.While,in the control group(30 patients),there were 0 patient who were basically healed,8 patients with marked effect,18 patients with effect,and 4 patients without effect,with total effective rate of 86.67%.The clinical curative effects between the two groups of patients showed statistically significant difference(P < 0.05)after rank sum test,which indicated that the clinical curative effect of muscle meridian manipulation of Zhuang medicine with segmental chiropractic therapy to treat back myofascial pain syndrome was higher than that of the conventional massage therapy.2.Before treatment,the McGrill scores between the two groups had no statistical difference(P>0.05)after t test,with comparability between the two groups.The McGrill scores in the observation group had statistical significance(P<0.05)before and after treatment after t test;The McGrill scores in the control group had statistical significance(P<0.05)before and after treatment after t test,indicating that the treatment had relieved the pains for back muscular fasciae pain syndrome.After treatment,the McGrill scores between the two groups had statistical significance(P>0.05)after t test,which showed that muscle meridian manipulation of Zhuang medicine with segmental chiropractic therapy to treat back myofascial pain syndrome was better than the conventional massage therapy in alleviating pains.Conclusion: The methods used in the two groups had curative effect in treating back muscular fasciae pain syndrome,but the clinical curative effect in the observation group was better,therefore,it is worthy of promotion clinically.
