Objective: To observe the muscle meridian of Zhuang medicine combined with improved segmental restoration in the treatment of Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy and its effect on PGE2,and to explore the effectiveness of this treatment in the treatment for the disease. Methods: A total of 60 patients with Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy who met the inclusion criteria were divided into treatment group(30 cases)and control group(30 cases),according to the random number table method. The treatment group was treated by the muscle meridian of Zhuang medicine combined with improved segmental restoration, and the control group was treated by the conventional massage techniques. Both groups were treated once every other day, four times as a course of treatment, two days apart between the two courses of treatment, and a total of two courses after the evaluation of efficacy.According to Tanaka Yasushi Symptom Scale,VAS Visual Analog Scale and changes in serum PGE2 concentration, the two groups of patients were evaluated before and after treatment, and then compared the clinical efficacy of the two treatment methods. All data collected were statistically analyzed using SPSS21.0 statistical software. Results: 1.There was no significant difference in age, sex, course of disease between the two groups before treatment(P > 0.05),and the two groups were comparable. There was no significant difference in the score ofTanaka Yasushi Symptom Scale and VAS pain grade between the two groups before treatment(P > 0.05),which was comparable.2.Clinical efficacy: Comparing the total clinical efficacy of the two groups, the cure rate of the treatment group was 23.33%,and the total effective rate was 96.67%.The cure rate of the control group was 6.67%,and the total effective rate was 83.33%.The clinical efficacy of the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the clinical efficacy of the treatment group was superior to that of the control group.3.Comparing the two groups before treatment and after the end of the course of treatment, the scores of Tanaka Yasushi Symptom Scale increased(P < 0.05)and VAS pain grade decreased(P < 0.05).This indicates that both groups of treatment have improved the clinical symptoms, signs and pain of patients.4.After the two courses of treatment, the scores of Tanaka Yasushi Symptom Scale in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group(P < 0.05),and its VAS pain grade were lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05),indicating that the improvement of clinical symptoms, signs and pain conditions in the treatment group was superior to that in the control group.5.Comparison of serum PGE2 level: There was no significant difference in serum PGE2 level between the two groups before treatment(P > 0.05),which was comparable. After treatment, the serum PGE2 level was decreased in both groups compared with that before treatment(P < 0.05),and both groups could reduce the serum PGE2 level.Comparing the two groups after treatment, the level of serum PGE2 in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P < 0.05),indicating that the treatment method in the treatment group could lower the level of serum PGE2 more than that in the control group. Conclusion: The muscle meridian of Zhuang medicine combined with improved segmental restoration and the conventional massage techniques can effectively improve the symptoms, signs and pain of patients with Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy after two courses of treatment.Among them, the overall efficacy of the muscle meridian of Zhuang medicine combined with improved segmental restoration is superior to that of conventional massage techniques.the muscle meridian of Zhuang medicine combined with improved segmental restoration can reduce PGE2 level in body serum after treatment, which may be related to the effective inhibition of PGE2 synthesis and release in patients and the control of inflammatory response, and it is one of the mechanisms of action in the treatment of Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy.
