Moringa oleifera has the characteristics of high protein content,rich nutrition,etc.It can replace a certain amount of protein feed in animal feed.It is a hot spot in the research and development of woody feed resources.Based on the understanding of conventional nutrient contents and metabolic utilization of Moringa oleifera leaves,this study investigated the effects of Moringa oleifera leaf flour on its growth performance,meat production traits,and digestive function in Wenchang chickens’ diets in order to evaluate Moringa leaf meal.As the value of Wenchang chicken protein feed development and utilization.It is expected to provide important basic data for the development and application of Moringa.The main findings are as follows:1.Evaluation of Nutritional Components and Nutrient Metabolism Rates in Moringa Leaf PowderThe test first determined the conventional nutrient contents of dry matter,crude protein,crude fat,crude fiber,crude ash,calcium,and total phosphorus in Moringa oleifera leaf powder;on this basis,10 individuals weighing 1.75 ± 0.18 kg,normal feeding,and no The bizarre adult Wenchang chicken rooster uses an alternative method combined with an endogenous indicator method to study the metabolic utilization of common nutrients in Moringa oleifera leaves.The results showed that the basal diets were fed in single cages in the same environment,and the feces were collected and treated,dried and measured for indicators.The crude protein content in Moringa leaves was 31%,dry matter content was 95.14%,crude fat content was 7.43%,crude ash content was 9.45%,calcium content was 2.8%,and total phosphorus content was 0.35%.The apparent utilization rate of dry matter of Moringa oleifera was 45.75%,and the true utilization rate was 49.18%.The apparent utilization rate of crude protein of Moringa oleifera was 73.36%,and the true utilization rate was 80.28%.The true utilization rate of crude fat in Moringa leaves is 49.18%,true utilization is 57.15%.2.Effect of Moringa leaf powder on production performance and slaughter performance of Wenchang chickenBy designing experiments according to single factor 6 levels,270 5-week-old Wenchang chickens with the same age,health,and weight were randomly divided into 6 groups,namely,Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ,Ⅴ,and Ⅵ groups.3 replicates,15 replicates each.The first group was the control group,which was fed a corn-soybean meal-based diet without addition of Moringa oleifera leaf powder,and Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ,Ⅴ,and Ⅵ groups were the experimental group,and were fed with Moringa leaves instead of the control group.In the diet,1%,3%,5%,7%,9%of rapeseed meal and other equal energy nitrogen test diets.The trial period is 8 weeks.Before and after the two phases,each trial lasts 4 weeks.The results showed that:After 4 weeks of feeding,the daily gain of group Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ increased significantly,and there was a significant difference with the other two groups(P<0.05),but there was no significant effect between the three groups(P>0.05).The daily intake value of group Ⅲ was highest at 61.27g,and was significantly different from the other groups(P<0.05).The lowest intake was group I,and the control group was 59.91g divided by group Ⅱ.There was no significant effect(P>0.05),but there was significant difference with the other four groups(P<0.05).The total weight gain was highest in group II and group III,and there was a significant difference in the other three groups(P<0.05).The material-to-meat ratio of Group Ⅱ and Group III was the lowest,and was significantly different from the other three groups(P<0.05).After 8 weeks of feeding,it can be seen from the table that daily gain,daily feed intake,total weight gain,and feed/meat ratio were not significantly affected among the groups(P>0.05).The Moringa oleifera leaves had no adverse effect on the disease resistance of Wenchang chickens;Moringa oleifera leaf substitutes different proportions of rapeseed cakes as protein feeds to feed Wenchang chickens with good meat production performance,and the suitable ratio is the same as the production performance.3.Effect of Moringa leaf powder on digestive enzyme activity in pancreas and intestine of Wenchang chicken At the end of each trial,the test chickens were fasted for 12 h and freely drank water.One Wenchang chicken was randomly slaughtered at each repetition.Pancreas,duodenum,jejunum,and ileum were taken and stored at-70° C.for intestinal contents of amylase,Lipase,trypsin,and chymotrypsin activity assays.The results showed that the activity of lipase,trypsin,and chymotrypsin in Wenchang chicken was optimal when it was added between 3%and 7%,or it was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05)orThe difference between the control group and the control group was not significant(P>0.05).The difference between the control group and the control group was not significant,indicating that the addition of Moringa leaf powder did not affect the intestinal health of Wenchang chicken and had no adverse effects on its growth.4.Effect of Moringa leaf powder on immune organ index,antioxidation and lipid metabolism in Wenchang chickenIn the experiment,3 Wenchang chickens with good growth status were randomly selected from each group during the 4th and 8th week of the breeding period.Liver and serum samples were stored for catalase,superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidation.Enzyme,total antioxidant capacity,determination of malondialdehyde activity and serum and liver total cholesterol,triglyceride,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,pyruvate,pyruvate kinase,hexokinase levels.The total protein concentration in the tissue fluid was determined using the Bradford method.The result was that when the content of Moringa oleifera leaves was 7%,the spleen weight and thymus weight were significantly lower than those in the control group and other experimental groups,while the current dosage had no significant effect on liver weight,liver index,spleen index,and thymus index.(P>0.05),there is no increase or decrease in the overall trend.Therefore,the use of Moringa leaves does not have a bad influence on the chicken organs and can be used safely;adding Moringa leaf powder in the diet can effectively increase the total antioxidant capacity of serum and liver,glutathione peroxidase,superoxide dismutase and catalase activities,and significantly reduced the content of malondialdehyde,indicating that Moringa leaf meal can improve the oxidative stress caused by lipid peroxidation in Wenchang chickens,thus playing a good Anti-oxidize effect.At the same time Moringa leaves can reduce total cholesterol,triglyceride and LDL cholesterol in the liver and blood and increase the levels of high-densitylipoprotein cholesterol,hexokinase,pyruvate kinase and pyruvic acid,making cholesterol and lipids The decrease in the content has a good effect on reducing blood fat.Because of the nutritional and physiological characteristics of broilers,the lipid content in the body is relatively high.If a peroxidative reaction occurs,it will not only restrict the growth of the organism,but also directly affect its meat quality.The Moringa leaf powder is effective due to its rich antioxidant properties.Suppresses the occurrence of oxidative stress in Wenchang chicken and thus exerts a good antioxidant effect.Comprehensive analysis of the above experimental data,Moringa leaves protein feed instead of rapeseed cake added to the feed,will not have a negative impact on the Wenchang chicken.
