Abstract:This study was conducted to investigate the effect of dietary Moringa Oleifera Fruit Powder(MOFP)supplementation on growth performance, intestinal development, serum parameters, liver antioxidant indexes, glucose and lipid metabolism relative genes expression and intestinal microbiota of 1-21d lion head geese. The experiment was divided into two parts:the first part, the content of total flavonoids, water soluble polysaccharide and sitosterol in MOFP samples were determined;the second part,a total of 900 1-day-old lion head geese were divided into 6 treatments with 6 replicates per treatment(male and female half),and 25 geese per each. The control group(Group A)was fed basal diet without MOFP.Treatment groups(GroupB,C,D,E and F)were fed 2%,4%6%,8%and10%MOFP,respectively.The experiment lasted for 21 days. Our results show that:(1)Dietary MOFP supplementation had no significant effect on final body weight(FBW),average daily feed intake(ADFI)and feed/gain ratio(F/G)of lion head geese from 1 to 21days(P>0.05).The average daily gain(ADG)of 8%group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).(2)The relative weights of duodenum, jejunum, ileum and rectum were not significantly affected by the amount of MOFP in diet.(P>0.05).The relative weights of the cecum in the6%,8%and 10%groups were significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).The duodenum relative lengths of the 8%and 10%groups of were significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.01).The cecum relative lengths of the 4%,6%and 8%groups were significantly lower than those of the other groups(P<0.01).The rectum relative lengths of the 6%,8%,and 10%groups were significantly lower than those in the other groups(P<0.01).(3)There was no significant effect of dietary supplemented with MOFP on the depth of duodenal recess, villi length/crypt depth of and the tissue morphology of jejunum lion head geese at the age of 21 days.(P>0.05)The villus length in control group was significantly lower than those of the 2%,4%,8%and 10%groups(P<0.01),Myometrium thicknesses of the 4%,8%,and 10%groups of were significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.01).The ileum villus lengths of the 0%and 2%groups were significantly lower than those of the other groups(P<0.01)The depths of recess in 2%and4%groups was significantly higher than those in the other groups(P<0.01)The thickness of muscle layer increased significantly with the increase of pods usage(P<0.01).The length of the ileum villi/recess depth in 8%groups was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).(5)There was no significant effect of diets supplemented with MOFP on GSH-Px and MDA in livers of 21-day-old lion head geese(P>0.05).T-AOC in 6%,8%,and 10%groups were significantly higher than that in control group(P<0.01).T-SOD in 10%groups was significantly higher than those of other groups(P<0.01).The CAT of 10%group was significantly higher than those of the control group and the 2%groups(P<0.01).(6)The diets supplemented with MOFP had no significant effect on serum TP,ALB,GLB,AST,ALT,Glu,-GT,LDH,TC gamma,HDL-C,LDL-C of 121-day-old lion head geese(P>0.05).The concentration of UREA in 4%groups was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).(7)There was no significant effect of the diets supplemented with of MOFP on melatonin in the liver of 21 day old lion head geese.(P>0.05).Melatonin content in the 4%groups in ileal mucosa was significantly higher than those in the other groups(P<0.01)(8)The expressions of AMPKα1mRNA and AMPKα2mRNA in the control group was significantly lower than those of other treatment groups(P<0.05).The expression of SREBP-1mRNA in 8%groups was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The expressions of PGC1αmRNA in group 4%,6%,8%and 10%were significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).(9)Dietary supplemented with MOFP can add relative abundance of Bacteroidetes in the cecal digesta;relative abundance of Firmicutes in the ileum of the 8%group was higher than that of the control group. To sum up,the addition of Moringa Oleifera Fruit Powder in diet can benefit the development of intestinal tract of 21-day-old lion head geese, promote the antioxidant ability of the body, and affect the expression of mRNA of genes related to glucose metabolism and lipid metabolism. |
