The level of development of special education reflects the degree of civilization and progress of society.The core of scientific outlook on development is peopleoriented.It is a dynamic and developing process to realize the wishes of the masses,meet their needs and safeguard their interests.In recent years,with the continuous growth of the number and proportion of students with intellectual disabilities in special education schools at the compulsory education stage in China,special education has paid more and more attention to students with intellectual disabilities.With the development of intellectual training teaching,the rehabilitation space environment of intellectual training schools should be improved accordingly.Rehabilitation space in schools for mental retardation has its particularity and systematicness.For example,according to different types of disability,the rehabilitative space function required has different requirements;different regions have different admission standards and teacher ratios,and rehabilitative room area and function required are also different.On the basis of collecting and sorting out the domestic and foreign data,this paper studies the current situation of rehabilitation space in schools,and studies the utilization rate of rehabilitation room in schools for mentally retarded students from the aspects of users,frequency of use,average area of students and spatial layout.Firstly,the current situation of the number,education,physical,psychological and behavioral characteristics of children with intellectual disabilities in China,as well as the scope of this study and the new trend of the development of special education in China in the future are discussed.This paper puts forward the concept of utilization rate of rehabilitation housing in intellectual training schools,and expounds the concept of space utilization rate.At the same time,the space scope of the study is divided,and the content and method of the study are explained.Secondly,by investigating schools for mentally retarded children in different areas,this paper discusses the situation of school enrollment,school teaching and research,general situation of school construction and the use of rehabilitation housing,and points out that the utilization rate of space in the use of rehabilitation housing is too low or too high.Finally,starting with the utilization rate and average index of rehabilitation housing,this paper analyses the influencing factors on the utilization rate and scale of rehabilitation housing in different areas,summarizes the relationship between the utilization rate of rehabilitation housing and average index,and gives the layout,design points and key points for detailed designer planning of rehabilitation housing in newlybuilt intellectual training school,and points out the key points for attention of Xi'an intellectual training school.Rehabilitation room is renovated to verify the method of improving the space utilization rate.At the same time,the recommended index of the area of rehabilitation room is calculated.It is hoped that it can provide reference and guidance for the design of rehabilitation space and the improvement of the utilization rate.
