With the development of society,human life has changed tremendously,the car was bought by thousands of people as basic vehicle.With the popularity of cars,the sales volume getting more from OEM side,in order to meet the requirement from the market,all the OEM start reducing the rate of making parts by themselves,which was replaced by purchasing.With the competition in automotive industry,the lead time of new program development is getting shorter,the quality requirement is getting higher.However,the level of these enterprises is uneven due to the large quantity of suppliers,this causing lots of problems in the supplier development and management,even causing program moving not smoothly.So the supplier development and management is so important for the program,having conclusive influence.BOS is as leading company in automotive industry,which was established in one hundred ago.In currently status,the roof is becoming key factor when people choosing cars,see the markets,so BOS decided to focus on the roof.Roof is defined as key parts by OEMS because of high quality requirement in appearance and function,which causing noise and rain leakage,even fall off from car lead to people death.Taking BMW Sunroof G28 program as an example,during the process of supplier development and management having three typical case: the disappointment of the choice,more money wasted,the roof line stopped,all this reflect the current status of the BOS supplier development and management,base on the theory of supply chain risk management and procedure optimization theory to survey current issue in BOS and find the root cause.Detail as below: Lacking of classifying management,the defective of supplier selection procedure,the defective of technical review procedure,the defective of change procedure.According to set up classifying management in supplier side,optimize the supplier selection procedure,optimize the technical review procedure and change procedure to get the solution.After taking action,we can find appropriate supplier,and team member responsibility and procedure is defined clearly.This improvement can control quality well,save resource and avoid program delay.This experience also can be learned by all the automotive company.
