With the deepening of China’s reform and opening up,the construction machinery industry has developed rapidly.Domestic main engine plants have entered the mature stage of technology from the initial stage of technology accumulation and technology buyout,and their market share has continued to expand,changing from market followers to market leaders.Price has a great influence on product sales.The short-term low-cost strategy can increase product sales in the short term and increase market share.The long-term use of low-cost strategy is not conducive to the development of enterprise supply chain.Enterprises should start from the perspective of long-term development,comprehensively consider the supplier’s cost,production capacity,technical ability,product quality,degree of cooperation and other factors,cooperate with suppliers,develop together,establish a stable supply chain,and provide guarantee for the long-term development of enterprises.S Machinery Company is an early supplier of construction machinery in China.Its main products are welded structural parts of construction machinery.The process involves steel plate cutting,oil pressure,drilling,beveling,welding,machining,sandblasting and painting.When it entered the Chinese market,there were only a few foreign-funded construction machinery suppliers in China.S Machinery Company,as the main supplier of foreign brands,won the recognition of most customers and ranked among the top in market share.Domestic main engine manufacturers have gained more market share through the strategy of low price and extended warranty time.In order to further reduce the market space of foreign brands,domestic main engine manufacturers require suppliers to supply with lower prices and higher quality.S Machinery Company complies with market changes and takes price priority as the only standard for selecting suppliers.With the continuous compression of the processing cost of suppliers,the cost of quality management increases,and the investment in safety and environment constantly erodes the profits of suppliers,which leads to the negative cooperation attitude of suppliers and the low willingness to improve the ability and on-site management.In the long run,this will lead to a decline in the management level of the whole supply chain and lower supply quality.Therefore,for the main engine plant,in this situation,how to improve supplier management and improve supply chain management level based on the consideration of overall interests,to achieve the combination of short-term benefits and long-term benefits,and to synergize the benefits of main engine plant and suppliers to jointly improve the collaborative efficiency of supply chain is a problem that must be considered by operation and management.This paper draws lessons from the related theories of supplier management,through literature review,data collection and analysis,case analysis,this paper combs the general situation of s machinery company,the functions,organizational structure and supplier management process of relevant departments of supplier management;identifies the problems existing in supplier management,analyzes the causes of the problems,puts forward the improvement scheme of supplier management,and evaluates the supply chain In order to improve the effect of the implementation of the scheme,it provides countermeasures for enterprises to improve the supply quality and supplier management.The supplier management improvement research deepens the cooperative relationship between suppliers and s machinery company.By assisting suppliers to solve problems,cultivating new suppliers and mining new capabilities of existing suppliers,establishing supplier incentive and elimination system,it promotes the management and control level of suppliers,and provides guarantee for s machinery company to maintain market competitiveness and sustainable and stable operation.
