Design Of The Retaining Wall In Landscape

Retaining wall is a common element in landscape,which can be seen everywhere in various parks and squares.when there are elevation differences and landscape requirements,retaining walls are needed.Therefore,soloving the hight difference is the initial function of retaining wall.With the development of modern landscape,there are many other materials and forms.In order to reflect people's growing aesthetic needs and some requirements of cultural dissemination,retaining walls not only as engineering components,but also gradually get attention to their landscape function.How to better make retaining walls have both functions and landscape functions,and make their design more in line with the needs of modern landscape design? As a landscape designer,we should consider the issue.Retaining wall as the object of this study,as a landscape element,through the analysis and induction of a large number of practical cases,summarize its functions,forms and so on,and provide a theoretical basis for the future design of retaining wall.Firstly,the paper summarizes the retaining wall,introduces the definition of the retaining wall,the development process at home and abroad,and classifies the retaining wall from various angles,which is the basic understanding of the study of the retaining wall and lays the foundation for the following research.Secondly,it elaborates the function of retaining wall in landscape environment,including basic function,spatial function and other function,combines with a large number of cases at home and abroad,analyses and summarizes its commonness and particularity,with the spatial role as the focus.Then it studies the form characteristics of retaining wall from the design point of view,and sums up the form changes of retaining wall itself and its combination with other landscape elements,combining with actual cases.Finally,based on the function and form of retaining wall,I summarize the design methods of retaining wall in different sites,which combined with the site,and through the analysis of typical cases,hoping to provide theoretical basis for various types of retaining wall design.The conclusion summarizes the research content of this paper and prospects the development trend of retaining wall.
