Research On The Effect Of High-Speed Railway On The Agglomeration Of Knowledge-Intensive Business Service

The High-Speed Railway(HSR)facilitates the exchange of talents and knowledge,and is closely related to the Knowledge-Intensive Business Service(KIBS),which is based on knowledge and technology.This paper discusses the effect of HSR on the agglomeration of KIBS,which is of great significance to accelerate the development of KIBS,plan HSR networks,and promote regional coordinated development.About the theoretical research,this paper analyzed the mechanism of HSR on the agglomeration of KIBS.Starting from the reality that HSR compressed the space-time distance and improved the accessibility of the city,this paper elaborated that HSR promoted the concentration of KIBS by expanding the market size of cities along the route,accelerating the flow of talent between regions and strengthening the knowledge spillover effect;and The "siphon effect" has led to the proliferation of KIBS.Then this paper elaborated that HSR has caused the proliferation of KIBS through "market congestion" and "siphon effect".About the empirical research,this article analyzed the development status of the KIBS in the east,middle,west and northeast of China using employment density index as a measure of the concentration level of KIBS.The results show that the number of KIBS companies continues to increase,but there are differences in spatial layout.Then this paper estimated the impact of the HSR on KIBS and the industry affected in different regions of China by constructing a PSM-DID model.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)For the East,Central and Northeast regions,HSR has promoted the agglomeration of KIBS in cities along the line;To a certain extent,the opening of HSR has lead to a small-scale proliferation of KIBS in cities.(2)The impact of HSR on the agglomeration of KIBS has a certain time lag,of which the northeast and west regions are more obvious.(3)For cities in different regions,the main industries affected by HSR are also different.For the eastern and central regions,the main industries is scientific research,technical services and geological prospecting.For the northeast region,is leasing and business services,and for the western region,is finance and information transmission computer and software services.
