The opening of high-speed railway has gradually blurred the boundary between cities,but it has made the concept of metropolitan area and urban agglomeration clearer and clearer.At the same time,high-speed railway will also have an important impact on the industrial and economic development of the areas along it,causing the spatial redistribution and agglomeration of urban industries.Industrial agglomeration promotes division of labor and specialization,and brings the improvement of external economy,economies of scale and market efficiency.It is not only the concentrated embodiment and important source of urban industrial competitiveness,but also the inexhaustible driving force for the development of urban economy.At present,China’s high-speed railway mainly undertakes the function of passenger transport,accelerating the flow of people and the flow of knowledge and information carried on the flow of people.Therefore,it may have an important impact on the service industry agglomeration focusing on the timeliness of transportation and the flow of population information.Therefore,studying the impact of the opening of high-speed railway on urban service industry agglomeration will be of great significance for how to better understand the relationship between high-speed railway and service industry agglomeration and scientifically and reasonably formulate high-speed railway related industrial development policies.This paper mainly takes the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration as the research object,and through the combination of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis,explores the impact of the opening of the high-speed rail and the formation of the network on the service industry agglomeration.The conclusions drawn in this paper are as follows:(1)The opening of high-speed rail has an obvious role in promoting the agglomeration of the service industry in the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration.To a certain extent,the promotion effect shows an increasing trend.(2)The opening of high-speed rail can cause significant space-time shrinkage effect,greatly shorten the time distance between cities along the line,and improve the location accessibility of cities.The shortening of time distance and the improvement of location accessibility are the realistic basis for high-speed rail to affect urban service industry agglomeration.On the one hand,the shortening of the time distance weakens the spatial barriers to the flow of factors,expands the potential market scope of service enterprises,and accelerates the flow of capital,manpower,technology,and information in the region and achieves optimal allocation in a wider range.,and strengthen the economic connection between cities;on the other hand,the improvement of urban location accessibility and transportation convenience has greatly improved the location conditions of the city.And all kinds of resource elements will be accelerated to the cities that have opened high-speed rail.The combined effect of these factors triggers market structure effects,labor pool effects and knowledge spillover effects,and ultimately promotes the agglomeration of service industries in cities along high-speed rail lines.
