A Study On Preservation And Activation Of Settlement With The Context Of Cultural Landscape

As a precious heritage of the Chinese nation,traditional settlements are an important carrier of traditional Chinese culture and have important historical,cultural,scientific research,and economic value.However,the acceleration of the urbanization process has brought great impact to traditional settlements,and a great many settlements have gone to decline.In the report to the 19 th National Congress of the CPC was proposed the rural revitalization strategy,while the basis for rural revitalization is the preservation and activation of the countryside.Based on this and from the perspective of the cultural landscape context,the paper aims to explore the strategy of settlement preservation and activation by analyzing the successful revitalization and transformation of Songkou Ancient Town,Yongtai County,Fuzhou City.The paper mainly contains the following contents.In summary,the research selected Songkou Ancient Town as the research object with the cultural landscape context as the perspective;based on the summary of the current situation and problems of settlement preservation and activation,the paper excavated the cultural landscape assets of the ancient town and explored methods on the preservation and activation of the ancient town.First,the paper summarized the previous study on cultural landscapes and settlements,teased out the theoretical research context required in this paper,and learned about the relationship between settlements and cultural landscapes.Second,the paper summarized and analyzed the current situation and problems of settlement preservation in China,especially the current situation and problems of settlement preservation in Fujian Province.Finally,based on field research of Songkou Ancient Town,the paper sorted out and summarized basic information of cultural assets of Songkou Ancient Town,such as historical buildings,traditional streets and alleys,local culture,ancient town customs,etc.;then based on analysis of the successful transformation and revitalization of Songkou Ancient Town,the paper summarized the strategy of the preservation and activation of Songkou Ancient Town that integrates “planning,creation,livelihood” as follows.1.In terms of planning thought: space integration with the acupuncture and moxibustion culture creativity idea involved;governance integration featuring top-down promotion of villagers' participation;public feeling participation featuring activation of the villagers' cultural confidence.2.In terms of space creation: new and old fusion to activate the architectural style and space;the original ecological transformation to promote the organic renewal of streets and alleys;the reunion of popularity to create a public space.3.In terms of livelihood development: retaining locals to build the future of the ancient town;the combination of innovation in traditional industries and the introduction of new business forms to promote common development.At last,I hope that the relevant research in this paper can provide valuable experience reference for the preservation and activation of ancient towns and contribute to the preservation and activation of rural areas.
