Design Of Child-friendly Public Space In Xiangfu Century Community,Changsha

At present,most residential quarters in China focus on the behavior needs of adults in the design and construction,ignoring the children’s needs for public space;The existing venues for children’s activities also have problems such as single facilities,lack of interaction and inconvenience of adult care.However,the public activity space is not only the most frequent place for children,but also the important place for children’s play,cognition and interaction.Therefore,the design of public activity space in residential quarters should take full account of the psychological needs of children users and activity space needs.With the development of child-friendly city construction,it is of great significance to mold child-friendly public space to promote children’s well-being and construct a good living environment.In this paper,the needs of children to fully meet the situation,combined with relevant theories and analysis of outstanding cases at home and abroad,to Changsha Xiangfu Century residential area for the practical project,the design method and design strategy of child-friendly public space are put forward and summarized.And the types of children’s outdoor activities are classified,different types of activity space have corresponding characteristics of activities.In order to improve the child-friendliness of the public space in the residential area,it is necessary to strictly follow the design principles of safety,accessibility,naturalness and interest,etc.,children’s activity theme division,as well as the function of child-friendly areas to describe the content of the specific design practice.Children friendly public space is designed as a whole park activity space based on the activity track of children,mainly for the purpose of creating safe,comfortable and interesting activity space for children.It is hoped that my research on the subject design can arouse the attention of the society to the children’s activity space and promote the development of the construction of child-friendly residential space in China.
