Wu was originally a garrison town in the northwest of the Han Dynasty. To the Tang Dynasty, words such as "Hua Wu" and "Zhu Wu" appeared in large scale in the Jiangnan region. This paper takes Wu from Han Dynasty to Tang Dynasty as the research object, analyzes the historical process of its meaning evolution, and sorts out the reasons for its distribution change. On this basis, the paper tries to discuss the change of the ancients' nature view in Wu from a coherent historical perspective, which may provide new thinking for the research on the historical development of Chinese nature view.Through the interpretation of the literature and the analysis of the unearthed sites and murals,it can be seen that the meaning of Wu has undergone a transformation from garrison town to nature.Later,Wu developed the concept of "garden" in the Jiangnan area during the Southern and Northern Dynasties. And Wu was distributed on a large scale in Jiangnan in the Tang Dynasty. On this basis, this paper sorts out the emotion and thinking ideals of the ancients hidden in Wu,and believes that the ancients may have a variety of cognitions of"ideal homes","blessed spot","literati garden",and "Xanadu" to Wu.At the same time, the paper establishes a relationship between the cognitive development and the changes of ancients' nature view in Wu,and believes that the ancients and the landscape in Wu may have experienced a change from attachment to integration.
