With the development of digital technology,the positioning of materials as design elements in product design has been redefined.The emergence of material-oriented design trend has brought about a change in design patterns.In the special period of industrial structure upgrading and enterprise transformation,the market competition of all walks of life becomes more and more intense.Under the traditional product design mode,there is a low degree of correlation between product structure,form and material,which is prone to design faults and insufficient to adapt to the changeable market competition.In order to better protect the interests of enterprises and cope with the challenges under the new design trend,this paper studies the changes of product design under the background of digital design,combines the user demand from the perspective of materials,and constructs a product design model based on Informed Tectonics Theory to cope with the changes of design trend under the guidance of material thinking.The mode is based on material calculation and user demand.Considering the principle of product design and material selection based on the user needs,Rule Based Reasoning is applied to identify the user demand and realized the transformation from the user demand to the material attribute demand,so as to improve the user satisfaction;One-step quality function deployment and competitive evaluation entropy analysis are used to calculate the subjective and objective weight;After calculating the overall importance of the material attribute,the composite score of alternative material properties with fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is calculated to output the optimal material solution.In this process,the phenomenon that the material selection process of traditional product design relies too much on the subjective experience of the designer is improved,and the comprehensive weight calculation of the main and objective attributes is eliminated to eliminate the disadvantages of the material deviation caused by the single weight selection.Its accuracy was verified by Ashby material performance diagram method.Subsequently,the material is added to the Finite Element Analysis as a material option.Through the FEA of the product structure,the total deformation and total stress results of the product structure under the constraint of environmental variables are output.Based on this,the material arrangement is arranged reasonably and the new structure is generated by the topology optimization method of the selected target.The feasibility of the model is verified by the study of bicycle frame design.ITPD model optimizes the traditional product design process and explains how to do a research from the angle of material selection.Reasonable selection of product design materials can avoid some of the risks in product design and shorten the product design cycle;The finite element topological optimization was used to study the force profile of the product structure,which realized the efficient application of product materials and reduced the cost of product design and development.This model enriches the connotation of product design under the new design trend and provides theoretical guidance for product design under the new situation.
