Lean and just-in-time manufacturing is the key link for auto manufacturers to improve their core competitiveness.The logistics operation efficiency inside of manufacturing enterprises has always been an important constraint to achieve lean and just-in-time production targets.The logistics operation efficiency and service level are improved in inner manufacturing environment by optimizing the plant layout planning and material supply planning to realize the lean management objectives of the material distribution from the inbound field to the production line.Those objectives are to minimize the in-process inventory,to improve timeliness and precision of the material distribution and to reduce logistics costs.This dissertation takes the engine factory of the automobile manufacturing company A as the research object.While coming from the material supply lean concept and method,the function area layout planning is adjusted and the material supply plan for the assemble line is optimized by rationally utilizing the material classification management principle.First,a grey prediction model and a second exponential smoothing prediction model are combined together to predict the future market demand of the automobile manufacturing company A.Secondly,comprehensively considering the requirements from logistics operation mode and business process,the function areas are divided and the required area is determined.Then,the correlation of both logistics elements and non-logistics elements are analyzed.A dual objective decision model for engine plant layout planning based on improved SLP method is offered with the goal of the maximum value of comprehensive mutual correlation and minimum material handling cost.At same time,this model is solved by using genetic algorithm to obtain an optimal engine factory layout solution.Furthermore,according to the pitch time of assemble line with forecasted demands and the layout planning solution and the lean supply scheme of materials,two different loading solutions are designed.Their operation performance of the two schemes are compared and analyzed with the two evaluation indexes of employee workload W and vehicle utilization rate U.The combinedly loading strategy of large and small bins is given.Case studies in this dissertation provides a kind of reference to adjusting the layout of the function area and optimizing the material supply of the assemble line in the mixed flow production line of automobile manufacturing enterprises.
