At present,China is going through an accelerated period of urban development, and transportation development.Urbanization development and transportation development influence each other, promote each other, and coordinate with each other.Studying the relationship between highway transportation construction and urbanization development is of great significance to the process of urbanization development and the healthy and rapid development of the entire national economy.Based on 2009-2016 highway transportation construction and urbanization data of the country,31 provinces and autonomous regions, and 216 prefecture-level cities, this paper analyzes the changes of highway transportation construction and urbanization under three dimensions, and explores The degree of coupling coordination between the two.Concluded as follow:(1)The comprehensive score of national urbanization basically shows a linear growth trend, with an annual increase of about 0.14.The provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions with relatively fast growth rates are mostly located in the western and central regions, while the provinces in the eastern and northeastern regions have less obvious changes. The comprehensive urbanization scores of cities of various levels present the situation of first-tier> second-tier> third-tier> fourth-tier> fifth-tier cities. The development of China’s urbanization after 2014 is mostly contributed by third-tier,fourth-tier and fifth-tier cities, while first-tier and second-tier cities have contributed less.(2)The comprehensive scores of national highway transportation construction have been increasing year by year, and experienced a process of rapid increase first and then a slowdown. The provinces with higher highway transportation scores are mainly concentrated in the central and eastern regions, and most provinces in the western region are at a lower level.Provinces with relatively rapid highway transportation construction generally have low scores. The overall score of highway transportation construction in cities of various grades is much higher in first-tier cities than in other cities, while second-tier,third-tier and fourth-tier cities are relatively close.Cities at all levels showed a trend of increasing first, then decreasing and gradually stabilizing.(3)From 2009 to 2016,the degree of coupling and coordination between national highway transportation construction and urbanization development has basically increased year by year.Among the provinces and autonomous regions in the country, most of the provinces that meet the coordination standards for the coupling of highway construction and urbanization are located in the eastern coastal region, showing the situation of east> central> northeast> west.Provinces with a low degree of coupling coordination have grown steadily year by year;provinces with a high degree of coupling coordination have generally tended to increase first, then decrease and then increase.Only Beijing and Shanghai have shown a downward trend in recent years. The gap in the coupling coordination among the provincial units in China has narrowed year by year.(4)From 2009 to 2016,the coupling coordination degree of highway transportation construction and urbanization at various levels becomes smaller as the city level decreases, and the gap between the first-and fifth-tier cities and other cities is more obvious. The growth rate of the coupling coordination degree of cities at various levels increases sequentially from first-tier cities to fifth-tier cities. The coupling coordination degree of the first-tier and second-tier cities remained basically stable or slightly decreased, while the coupling coordination degree of the third-,fourth-,and fifth-tier cities continued to grow, approaching a linear growth trend. |
