Setting the anti-glare facilities on the central separator of the expressway is an important measure to keep out the glare and to ensure the safety of the expressway at night.In the current standards of our country,the evaluation methods of anti-glare facilities is not put forward.Moreover,the effect of the turning radius of the curve section on the height and spacing of the anti-glare plate is not considered in the current standards.Consequently,the anti-glare facilities are too expensive or ineffective in some sections of the expressway.Therefore,it is necessary to study the comprehensive evaluation and the optimization design of the anti-glare facilities on expressway to improve the driving conditions of expressway at night.Firstly,the formation principle of glare at night is analyzed in this paper.Based on the cognitive response pattern and visual adaptation of drivers,The effect of glare on the visual characteristics of drivers is analyzed.The effect of glare on the psychological and physiological characteristics of drivers is analyzed,and the necessity of setting anti-glare facilities is revealed.Secondly,the set principles and set requirements of the anti-glare facilities on expressway are raised.The factors affecting the using effect of anti-glare facilities are integrated,and the using effect of anti-glare facilities is evaluated comprehensively by AHP.Thirdly,the anti-glare board and the anti-glare plants under different linear conditions are analyzed,and the calculation method of the anti-glare board and the anti-glare plants on the straight and curved sections are put forward.The width range of the anti-glare board and the anti-glare plants under normal circumstances is derived.From the point of view of the most unfavorable lane combinations,the calculation method of the height of the anti-glare facilities on the straight sections is obtained.Taking the quadratic parabola as the vertical curve,the calculation formula of the height of the anti-glare facilities on the concave vertical curve sections is deduced.The calculation method of the height of the anti-glare facilities when the vehicles enter and leave the vertical curve is deduced.Finally,optimization design on the anti-glare facilities of Xuan-da expressway is done using the above optimizing method.
