In Chinese 19 th National Congress report, there are five strategies proposed as the rural revitalization methods: Industrial prosperity, ecological livability, civilized civilization, effective governance, and prosperous life. The village planning in Guangdong Province started earlier. It has achieved good results and experience in village programming and construction.Under the guidance of the National Rural Revitalization Strategy, exploring the village programming and construction for poverty-stricken villages in Guangdong is the key in improving shortages and realizing rural revitalization.Middle-aged labor force flooded into cities, rural economic developed slowly, public facilities and services were imperfect, and the living environment gradually declined, that are reasons why impoverished villages appear. This research using the combination of theory and practice which based on the rural strategy. The main steps of this project are: propose problems—documentation-case studycase practice-summary conclusions, which combined with literature review, theoretical research, field empirical research, interdisciplinary research, laws and holistic analysis and many other methods. After comparing some successful cases of foreign village remediation planning and learning from the successful experience of village rectification planning in other country, this study connected some personal participation experience in povertystricken villages rectification design, tried to analyze the problems encountered in the planning process of several villages in Guangdong Province. In order to better implement the construction planning of poverty-stricken villages and realize the rural revitalization in Guangdong, the goal of this research is try to come up with a remediation planning strategy for problems in poor villages.Different from the planning of ordinary villages, the problems faced by poor villages are more severe. To solve poor villages’ development and construction difficulties, people need more considerations for the poor villages themselves. To understand the actual needs of villages in poor,I participated in the rectification design of two provincial poverty-stricken villages: Buhe Village and Xinping Village.Based on three aspects: the actual needs of poor villages, the requirements of village planning and design, and the analysis of successful cases at home and abroad, this research concluded that the planning of poverty-stricken villages in Guangdong Province should main focused on solving common problems in poor villages. These problems are mainly reflected in land use, village appearance remediation, garbage collection and treatment, centralized water supply, sewage treatment, rural house remediation, road remediation, public service facilities, etc.Due to the differences from each village’s geographical environment, economic conditions, population composition and other factors, the demand level is also different. The existences of construction shortage are the biggest obstacle to the development of villages at this stage. The village remediation plan should be combined with regional development, design and construct the village according to local conditions, find out the existing short-boards in each poor village, try to understand the actual needs of different villagers, targeted to fill the shortcomings of village construction and restore the vitality and development momentum of poor villages. From the perspective of rural revitalization strategy, explore and research the remediation planning content of poor villages in depth will enable Guangdong’s poor villages to achieve harmonious and stable sustainable development and realize the strategic goal of rural revitalization.
