In recent years,the social population structure of our country has undergone great changes,the proportion of old people is rising rapidly,and the problem of aging populations has become one of the critical social problems facing all countries in the world.With the rapid development of modern medicine and economy,the problems facing elderly living are gradually being paid more and more attention,and the construction of outdoor landscape for nursing homes has attracted the attention of all walks of society.Throughout time,garden landscape has mainly focused on visual perception,ignoring the experience of other senses.As an important branch of plants,aromatic plants can not only satisfy people’s visual experience,but also let enjoy pleasant aromas.Aromatic plants,with their unique character can have effects of purifying the air,improving the environment,and can also alleviate pressure and calm emotions.So,effectively utilizing to the characteristics of aromatic plants with reasonable collocation in order to meet the elderly’s want of a both beautiful and healthy outdoor environment,create a different experience of outdoor landscape.Using aromatic plants and nursing homes as research objects,this paper consults and summarizes the related research situations and progress of the case domestically and abroad,analyze the psychological and behavioral characteristics and the demands of the elderly,carries on-the-spot investigation on the nursing home in Human,analyses and explores the problems existing in the current,and combined with related literature,conducts a preliminary exploration of the application of aromatic plants in the nursing home’s outdoor landscape research results are as follows:(1)A preliminary understanding of relevant basic theories.A preliminary understanding of aromatic plants the types organism and characteristic of fragrant plants,through reading literature books,and analyzes the security of the aromatic plants,its functional and artistic qualities,health and other landscape principles,as well as the application and function of aromatic plants in gardens,providing a theoretical reference basis for the paper.(2)The application of aromatic plants in the outdoor landscape of nursing homes was analyzed.Through on-the-spot investigation,and visiting several pension institutions,finally chose Changsha five nursing homes as research objects specially,the present situation of the application of aromatic plants in the nursing homes outdoor landscape for further research.This paper analyzes the application situation of aromatic plants,its problems and their causes in nursing homes in Changsha city.(3)Through method such as field survey and literature reading,this paper analyses the features of nursing homes,its uses the behavioral and psychological characteristics of old people and the needs of the elderly and discusses the creation of landscape and space using aromatic plants in nursing homes principles of planting aromatic plants in nursing homes,and sums up the main points of application of aromatic plants in nursing homes,as supporting nursing theory support for using aromatic plants in nursing homes.(4)Through the investigation of the landscape status of The Sixth People’s Hospital Of Xiangtan(Hunan Xiangtan Employee Nursing Home),the surrounding environment,traffic status and application status of aromatic plants,planning the reconstruction of dense forest as natural oxygen bars,recreational activity areas and the filial piety culture park as three areas of plant landscape,to build a comfortable and healthy outdoor environment for the aged,and to offer reference for nursing home fragrant plant landscape design.
