The Study Of Aromatic Plant Resources And Its Applications In Landscape Of Urumqi

Aromatic plant as a unique new type of ornamental, aromatic and healthcare features landscape plants,not only have the characteristics of color，aromatic, shape, but also could make the environment beautiyf,fragrant, and its volatile substances is conducted with the medical and health effects. Thus, aromatic plantswould be of great value to create a modern landscape of natural, visual, health and fragrant.Currently, the study of aromatic plants is still at an initial stage in China, and in a blank in Urumqi yet.In order to further discuss the practical application of aromatic plants in gardens, this article would be tomake a thorough investigation and study on the aromatic plant resources and its application in landscape ofUrumqi for the first time. The main results were as follows:1Through the analysis of the connotation and classiifcation of aromatic plants, a clear concept ofaromatic plant in landscape was made, and the characteristics of aromatic plants was futrher analyzed aswell.2According to the research and literature review on the aromatic plant resources in Urumqi,concluded that: wild aromatic plants were very few, only48species of24families41genenses, of which41species of herbal aromatic plant,8woody aromatic plant species, and including6species of thedomesticated woody aromatic plant.131species of the cultivated aromatic plants, were concluded, whichbelong to39families83genenses, and including96woody aromatic plant species.35herbal aromatic plantspecies.3Based on the classification system of urban green space, two typical forms of park green space andurban branch green space were chosen to investigate, which had plenty of plants species, and be closelyrelated to healTh. The research effort has focused on the investigation of woody aromatic plant resourcesand its application in landscape. Having been investigating the aromatic plants, the plants resoures of thearomatic plants were tided up.90species of the woody aromatic plants in park green space, were concluded,which belong to26families51genenses. and74species of26families and46genenses in the urbanbranch green space. It discussed the problems that should be paid attention in application of aromatic plantsin the garden, survey showed that: the widely applied aromatic plant species are less, native aromatic plantsapplication has not been seriously paid attention to. the color is so single, the smell landscape constructionis not reasonable enough, aromatic plant forms are less, specified flower garden is lacking, the uniquefeature of aromatic plantfiguration is not outstanding and the maintenance and management is inadequate.4According to the landscape design and plant configuration principle and method, summarized thearomatic plant disposition and design principle, therefore, the application of aromatic plants in landscapeshould focus on: scientific principle, health care principle, artistic principle, cultural principle and theprinciple of economy.5Through the research on the aromatic plants and landscape elements，the application of aromaticplants in landscape which includes flower border, water-front landscape and garden road landscape wasfutrher analyzed.6Through the further research, a thorough investigation and study on the aromatic plants in differenttype of green space was made, survey showed that aromatic plant landscape in different type of green spaceshould have different aspects be paid attention to. In the university campus green area, three factors need tobe considered, such as showing nature landscape, reflecting the historical culture and campus culture,emphasizing the multivariate space and the aromatic plants’ health function. In the residential quarter greenarea, three factors need to be considered also, such as displaying the theme, combining with theconstruction of configuration, designing ecological fragrant garden and night garden should be considered.In the hospital green area, two factors need to be considered, firstly choosing the anti-pollution plants, thenusing the aromatic plants to construct multiple space, to fulfil the requirements of different people.Meanwhile, the application of aromatic plants in country park and health type green space was madepreliminary discussion as well. So this offered more scientific rational reference for the applications ofaromatic plants.7Through the analysis the prospect of application of the aromatic plants in Urumqi, some improvingsuggestions were put forward, those included: enhancing the domestication and utilization of the wildaromatic plants; enriching new species of aromatic plants; emphasing aromatic-oriented view of theecological effects and the fit of flavor, strengthening the status of the sense of smell and feel in landscapeconstruction, constructing aromatic plants species-divided gardens; focusing on the aromatic plant healthresearch and utilization of health care, and creating health care landscape; strengthening the level ofconservation and management, to ensure landscape relative stability.
