Job-housing balance is the basic problem of urban planning.Employment and housing are basic needs of people.However the imbalance of job-housing caused by land use which causing the contradiction between huge traffic demand and insufficient traffic supply is the primary cause of urban traffic congestion.The imbalance of job-housing not only increased traffic congestion and commuting time,but also reduced travel efficiency and quality of life.Development zones,as a special policy area,bear the responsibility of economic development.The problem of job-housing is extremely obvious in the development and transformation of the development zone.The research object of this paper is the employees worked in two development zones located on the fringe of center city.The research of job-housing problem in development zone is based on 1300 questionnaires,interview survey and macrostatistics such as Tianjin resident trip survey.This paper analyzes the issue of job-housing in development zones from three perspectives.First,the paper analysed residence and commuter characteristics of employees,and the needs of employees from the perspective of the individual characteristics of the workers in the Development Zone.Second,the paper use comparative methods to analyze the commuting and residence characteristics of employees from the perspective of spatial characteristics.Third,the paper use comparative methods to analyze the commuting and residence characteristics of employees at different income levels.This paper summarized three main conclusions.First,in development zone,the level of public service is the main reason for transregional job-housing of workers.It means development zones should to improve the level of public service to alleviate imbalance of job-housing in the transition process of the population demand and the Development Zone.Second,spatial location and land use are also the main reasons for the imbalance of job-housing.Fragmentation and marginalization of space will aggravate the imbalance of job-housing.Third,in the transition process of the Development Zone,we should pay attention to low income employees because of their ability of residence and commuter.
