Housing is one of the basic rights of human, as the basic life elements of humansurvival and development. As the reform of the system of housing in the1980s, thehousing were considered as a commodity to the market, resulted in the rising of houseprices, caused the severe problems of the low-income group unable to buy the house. The government put forward the goal of construction of36million indemnificatoryhousing in the twelfth five-year plans period, in order to solve the difficulties of thehousing needs of low-income families. In this period, Shenzhen will build240000sets,a total construction area of about16.16million square meters of indemnificatoryhousing. At present, the construction of the indemnificatory housing is hitting its stride, however, behind the "great leap forward type" construction wave, there is no solidtheoretical foundation as a support. According to living status and demand of thelow-income group in Shenzhen, and drawing successful lessons from cases ofDomestic and foreign countries, this research study the government-investmentlow-income communities and analyse the space form of the indemnificatory housingfrom the view of the architecture. This research focus on the space form from the macro and micro levels. The firstinnovation point is analyzing the low-income affordable housing space layout ofShenzhen and finding the problems. Second is comparing the "focus" and "scattered"construction mode of indemnificatory housing to propose the solution strategies andthe future direction of construction; Third is to discuss problems of outer space ofthe community, public facilities and single building space and puts forwardcorresponding solutions. This paper also take example of design competition works of Shenzhenindemnificatory housing, proposing some strategies to the design of indemnificatoryhousing from the following aspects, including the reconstruction and integration ofthe city space, complex and adaption of the building space.
