Drivers’ parking lot choice behaviors are influenced by numerous factors that distinguish the drivers‘ behaviors from the types of vehicle. In many developing countries, urban transportation is dominated by motorcycles and diversity of the multivehicle cause many traffic problems regarding vehicle ownership, traffic congestions, traffic accidents or related parking problems such as lack of parking space, illegal parking, etc. This study clarified the influence factors of parking lot choice models that focused not only on the car drivers but also on motorcycle drivers.Various discrete choice models under the assumption of random utility maximizations(RUM)were used to estimate the effect of influence factors on drivers‘ parking choice behavior models. The results revealed that the mixed logit model performed better with both data of motorcycle users and car users in Ho Chi Minh City.Parking costs, walking distance to destination, the capacity of the parking lot and queuing time were revealed to have significant effects on parking choice modeling of both motorcycle users and car users.Navigation and street sign variable showed a significant effect on the parking choice of car users, however,a lesser effect was found on the choice of motorcycle users. The results aim toward the help for urban traffic planning, parking demand prediction, and management in motorcycle dependent cities as well as in developing countries.Simultaneously, contribute to enhance parking‘ service quality, reduce the effect of parking issues on traffic and create the foundation for implementation of technology solution in the future.
