Tourism has become a recognized sunrise industry, cruise tourism as a new form of tourism,is flourishing.Guangzhou and Shenzhen are two mega-cities located in the Pearl River Estuary of Guangdong Province. They are adjacent to each other and have similar scale of economic development. They almost develop cruise tourism at the same time.At the same time,it is necessary to further explore their respective tourist origins, development advantages and regional characteristics, and explore how to coordinate development and dislocation development.Through the comparative analysis of the tourism competitiveness of the cruise home ports in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, this paper points out the advantages and disadvantages of their respective development, puts forward the idea of differentiated development, and provides a reference for the development of other nearby cruise tourism port cities.Based on the evaluation index system of cruise home port tourism competitiveness of port cities in China, this paper analyses the current situation of cruise home port tourism competitiveness in China, determines the suitable conditions for Guangshen to develop cruise home port, and points out that Guangshen is only at the second level in the comparison of cruise home port tourism competitiveness in China, and there is a big distance from Shanghai, which is at the first level. Then, with the help of a survey of tourists' behavior, this paper explores the competitiveness of tourism demand in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, especially in the light of the current situation of tourist market and the characteristics of potential market, and compares Guangzhou and Shenzhen cruise home ports one by one in terms of comprehensive competitiveness, realistic competitiveness, potential competitiveness, development environment competitiveness and port condition competitiveness. The results show that:(1)Guangzhou and Shenzhen rank first in the development of cruise home port tourism in China.Guangzhou and Shenzhen rank second and third respectively, second only to Shanghai. The competitiveness of cruise port cities in China is at the second level. The results show that both Guangzhou and Shenzhen have good development environment and hardwarefacilities, and their cruise home ports have strong tourism reception capacity.(2)The cruise product preference of Guangzhou-Shenzhen tourists shows the characteristics of cruise time preference of 5-7 days, cruise destination preference of ocean, cruise project preference of ornamental. The distribution of Guangzhou-Shenzhen cruise passenger market obviously shows the characteristics of decreasing with the increase of space distance: the city accounts for more than half of the passenger sources, the provincial passenger sources are concentrated in the Pearl River Delta, and the provincial passenger sources are mostly concentrated in the south. Therefore, there is no obvious difference in product type and market segmentation between the two places.(3)From the perspective of tourists' behavior choice,it is found that Guangzhou has more traffic advantages than Guangzhou, and the port's popularity has a greater impact, preferring Shekou Port in Shenzhen. The potential tourist market of cruise home port tourism is huge, widely distributed and relatively concentrated.(4)The importance of transportation and ports to the tourism competitiveness of cruise home ports.Faced with the huge cruise passenger market in China and based on their own receptivity,Guangzhou and Shenzhen have a competitive relationship, but Guangzhou carries forward its traffic advantages and Shenzhen relies on the port advantages to give full play to their advantages and characteristics, dislocation management, and jointly enlarge the regional market.
