This research focuses on the urban elderly aged 65~75 years old,whose physiological and psychological state is not as good as before,and they are in a state of the idleness of retirement.However,they still have certain connections with the society,and their material needs are basically met,and they their spiritual needs are also need to be met.The purpose of this paper is to provide a better social environment for the elderly,meet their demand for free travel,and design an elderly driverless cars,so that the elderly have a better life in their old age.This study conducted a survey on the social needs of urban elderly people by means of questionnaire survey and shadow observation,and found that most of the elderly people in urban areas have face-to-face social behaviors,the locations and ways of social need are becoming more and more abundant and there are some problems such as the bus system and the current private travel tools cannot meet the needs of the elderly to travel independently,and there are social behaviors in the process of travel.Then conducted a survey on the travel condition of urban elderly people,and try to design an elderly mobility scooter,put forward the solution of elderly mobility scooter as the social carrier of the elderly,improve the social experience of the urban elderly,meet their social needs in the process of travel,and provide a safe and comfortable way of travel for the elderly.This design research takes the user demand as the center,improves the social life quality of the elderly,provides the old people with the living environment of "To let the old have something to do;To let the old have something to be happy with”.
