After years of long-term exploration,people have discovered that combined with the current rapid development of electronic technology,information technology and computer technology,it is expected to solve the problem of urban traffic congestion that has long plagued people,by unifying roads,vehicles and people.The intelligent transportation system was born on the basis of electronic technology,computer technology,communication and control technology.Among the entire intelligent transportation system,the core part is the traffic signal control system.The power of this system is to effectively maintain the smooth flow of urban roads and ensure the safe operation of motor vehicles.Therefore,the research and design of traffic signal control system has gradually become the main direction of research and development of intelligent transportation systems in various countries.The emergence of field programmable gate array FPGA continues the core concept of ASIC,this semi-custom design circuit can make up for many defects of the custom circuit,and at the same time solve the problem that the number of original programmable device gates is limited.At the same time,its customization costs are greatly reduced,and the development cycle is greatly shortened.FPGA is essentially a semi-custom circuit,which is a new generation of products derived from the upgrade of programmable devices such as CPLD,GAL,and PAL.Its flexibility is that the system upgrade and function improvement of the FPGA can be realized only by modifying and updating the program on the computer.It avoids the tedious process of redesigning and debugging the PCB board,greatly optimizing the convenience of hardware design and reducing system design time.Control methods such as adaptive control and optimal control in the traditional sense are difficult to adapt to the characteristics of urban traffic system lag,time-varying and nonlinearity.Fuzzy logic technology is very practical for problems that are difficult to solve with traditional control methods,such as highly nonlinear,multivariable strong coupling and difficult modeling.Therefore,FPGA technology combined with fuzzy control has become the main technical theory of current intelligent transportation system design.The design of intelligent traffic signal control system is mainly considered from three aspects:traffic flow statistics module,clock module and traffic signal control module.The correctness of the design is verified by waveform simulation.Among them,traffic signal control includes four directions:east to west,east to south,south to north,and south to west.According to the consistency of the test results and the simulation results,it is judged whether the design meets the expected goal.
