Research On Design Strategy Of Civic Plazas From The Perspective Of Routine Life

Just as a“parlor”“living room”of the city,urban square plays an important role in people’s daily life,which has an increasingly significant impact on the holistic construction of Urban public space.Since the 1990s,urban square has set off a construction boom in the urbanization processing with vigorous development of extensive urban constructions and renew activities.While,with a result of cultural derivative from the overseas,we ignore the original purpose of urban square as a“civil center”because of lopsided Cultural transplantation and simple imitation in form.In the initial design process,some urban squares are short of humanistic care and consideration for daily usage of space,resulting in the absence of its vitality.Therefore,Chinese urban square construction,back to the real world,takes a significantly imperative meaning for now.In terms of mentioned above,this project aims to make an advanced research from the perspective of routine life.Furthermore,to break through the limitation of“consider space as it stands and to pay more attention to the daily activity track and social logic by mankind in the urban square.By the research on daily activities of users in urban square space,analyze the requirements of urban square design as well as the characteristics of urban square affecting the civil daily activities.Thereby,we are able to establish an inherent connection between urban square space and routine activities,meantime accomplishing a truly unbreakable combination between humanity,daily activities and activities space on urban square.In this work,we made a survey and analysis on Chinese and foreign urban square from the perspective of routine life,which is depended on civic-plazas characteristics of city environment,entity key factors,as well as accessible space.As a result,we summarized several characteristics that promote daily activities in urban square.For further study,we proposed a series of advanced design strategies based on these three important aspects written earlier.This part is the key of our research work and pave a way for better understanding and accomplishing of future Chinese urban square project.
