The Research On Civic Public Space's Plantscape Design

Civic public space is the important place, it provide places for all activities and associations. Urban plantscape works as a significant social and ecological feature in urban landscape. Different civic public spaces have different special characteristics, so they have different demand in plantscape design. No matter for aesthetics, ecology, culture, function, and other common characteristics should be considered in different civic public space's plantscape design. It's a pity, we find some plantscape design in different civic public spaces appear as almost the same pattern. The dissertation focuses on the plantscape design in different civic public and develops the topic through the way of the combination of theories and practicing design. It makes a further research on the above problems of the plantscape design in different civic public, with the basic theories of the urban design, aesthetic psychology, ecology and landscape plant, aiming at providing an academic basis and designing countermeasure for the future plantscape design in civic public space. In the dissertation, it makes clear about the object and the content of the research. Through discussing source material and decorative characteristics of plants, we know the compositions of the plant space and apply form of plantscape in civic public space. It summed up the basic theories and methods about the plantscape design in civic public space. It mainly analyzes the basic factors which affect plantscape design in civic public space, basic principles of plantscape design in civic public space. Artistic regulations and may forms of plantscape design in civic public space were presented. As the core of the whole dissertation, the fourth chapter make research on the plantscape design of the City Square , City Road, Vest-pocket Park, City Entrance, and City Waterfront, giving some designing countermeasure.
