In recent years,since the prevalence of e-books,online bookstores,and other digital media,there have been frequent incidents of the collapse of independent bookstores in China.Therefore,most independent bookstores at this stage are facing problems of transformation and upgrading.The reason is mainly that consumers pay more attention to the experience and have also generated more demand for independent bookstores.This article starts with the sensory needs of consumers and starts with an in-depth design study of compound independent bookstores based on multiple senses such as auditory,visual,tactile,taste,and smell.At present,as a new type of independent bookstore model,“Comprehensive Independent Bookstore” has become the center of reading,and the complex cultural space of catering,cultural and creative,exhibition,and apparel has become the best experience space for the public to enjoy reading life.This paper focuses on how the sensory experience is applied to multiple independent bookstores,breaks through the traditional business model of independent bookstores,and uses a multi-sensory marketing design model to create a comfortable reading experience and a sense of scene for multi-independent bookstores.Designed for the core sensory experience.In the theoretical research part,the theoretical basis for the design principles,methods and techniques required for the sensory experience in independent bookstores and the forms of consumers' perceptions in the perspective of sensory experience are studied through research on relevant literature at home and abroad;Questionnaire surveys,in-depth interviews,case studies,and other research methods capture consumer demand and pain points,and summarize the causes of the transformation of independent bookstores.Based on the above research,the sensory experience of the complex independent bookstore is analyzed in an all-round way,focusing on the sensory experience of consumers as the core,and a design strategy is proposed for the existing problems in the complex independent bookstore.The auditory,touch,sense of smell,and taste sense are designed and displayed on a separate,independent bookstore.
