Quantitative Evaluation And Correlation Analysis Of Vitality Of Urban Street

As the basic component of the urban system,the street is not only an important carrier of traffic,but also an important part of the urban public space.With the rapid development of urbanization,the urban design dominated by vehicle behavior has gradually weakened the social attributes of the streets,and the street vitality is rapidly declining.Returning to the people-oriented urban street planning and design,and revitalizing the street as an important public space is the basis for sustainable urban development.Based on the theoretical research and practical achievements in this field at home and abroad,this paper quantifies and analyzes the external characterization and influencing factors of urban street vitality in the southern part of Xiamen Island,and proposes strategies for how to create urban street vitality.The article interprets related concepts such as urban street and vitality,and determines the research route for analyzing the external representation and constituent elements of street vitality from both macro and micro dimensions.Firstly,the "heat value" is used as the vitality representation of the street at the macroscopic scale,and the environmental factors such as functional density,functional mixture,self-length,and intersection density are used as the influencing factors of street vitality to construct a macro-level street vitality assessment system.The quantitative analysis was carried out on the streets in the southern part of Xiamen Island to explore the influence of various environmental factors on the vitality of urban streets.Secondly,select the typical streets within the scope of the study for micro-level research and analysis.Through the field investigation of the pedestrian activity of the street pedestrians and the interface and spatial characteristics of the street,the research data needed for the analysis were obtained and used as the external characterization and influencing factors of the street level vitality at the micro level.The correlation analysis software was used to conduct inductive statistics and correlation analysis to determine the correlation between each interface and spatial characteristics and the staying activity on the street.Finally,based on the previous analysis results and planning practices at home and abroad,the strategy of building urban street vitality is discussed.Increasing the functional density of the street,enhancing the transparency and continuity of the street space interface,and the appropriate sidewalk width design all contribute to the vitality of the city's streets.The evaluation system combining macro and micro in this paper is a useful exploration for the quantitative study of urban street vitality.
