With the improvement of Chinese national disposable income and consumption expenditure,the aviation industry has entered a rapid development stage.Airlines'competition is increasingly fierce as the result of the improving infrastructure and dropping access threshold to civil aviation.Airplanes as the transport carrier and core asset of airlines,its utility directly affects airlines' operation and development as well as the long-term strategic planning.Therefore,the importance of the fleet management is increasing obviously,and then more and more airlines have been incorporated fleet management into the important strategic management items.This paper explains research background,reviews relevant research,and combs the related concepts of fleet management.Based on the future development plan of KUNMING AIRLINES,make a deeply scan for its current situation of fleet management so as to seek problems and reasons,and then make some guiding and improving suggestions.This paper takes the fleet management of KUNMING AIRLINES as the research object,from point of view of KUNMING AIRLINES,and finds out five existing problems by using the method of depth interview and on-the-spot investigation,such as slowly fleet introduction,unreasonable fleet structure,undefined configuration standard,unsystematic airplane return management,and poor ability to respond government policy.Through the deep analysis on the existing problems and the reasons hiding behind,the writer puts forward some detailed countermeasures to improve KUNMING AIRLINES's fleet management,which in order to provide the theoretical foundation,strategic thinking,countermeasures and suggestions for practitioners and aviation enterprise during relative decision making.
