The habour and waterway engineering project has a large investment and a long construction period.Each phase of construction has risks.Failure of risks control is the main reason for the occurrence of major accidents in the project.The work in the design phase has unique characteristics and it is of great significance to identify and evaluate design risks.Based on a large number of risk accident data and on-the-spot visit surveys,this article classifies and sums up the common design risk events of habour and waterway engineering,identifies the potential sources of the risks that have occurred.The design risk events are classified into four categories according to the engineering feasibility study,preliminary design,construction drawing design and operation management phases.The design risk sources are divided into four categories according to construction conditions,design schemes,construction technologies and operation management.This paper analyzes the weights of risk sources and assesses the consequences of risk events.Investigate specific risks of risk sources and risk events that have a greater impact,and propose risk prevention measures that should be formulated for major risk sources and risk events.
