Steel construction provides a good solution for the construction of contemporary architectures,especially for industrialized and modular manufacturing process,there are many advantages in relation to the timeframe to design and construction of buildings compared to the traditional stacked or concrete-filled buildings.With regard to the models presented by the architectures,steel construction makes it more possible for architects to implement the imagination of modeling and space due to the tough and malleable material properties,therefore,contribute to the architecture representatives in21st century!Industrialization and high-tech property forms the tradition imagination for steel construction,the complexity of structural calculation and the professional skill needs in fabrication and assembly also make it difficult for architects who are not familiar with.Normally the architects outsource almost jobs of steel construction design,including the selection of material section to the design of cross-section joints,to professional structural technicians.The architect only focus on the design of surface and its exterior,ignoring the objective of which kind of design the material can be achieved.By integrating the technical theory on steel construction and interpretation of construction from the architectural theory,there is more detailed and complete information on the steel structure construction at the technical level and widely adopted by structural technicians.From a professional architect's perspective,we hope to focus on how architect should respond to base cues by converting/reinterpreting such highly homogenous material,construction conditions and human factors,as well as distinguishing the difference of standardized/mainstream steel structure by the development and demonstration of tectonics concept!To explore how to link material's properties with designer's characteristics and construction conditions,by the unique design concepts in steel construction,and provide reference for future's tectonics design in steel-construction.
