In architecture design,through expressing the node,materials,structure of the physical properties,texture,details,you can make materials and the framework show their ontological nature of the tectonic.Architecture is architecture,architecture is not painting,not sculpture,architecture has its own academic independence.Architecture exists as the result of construction while construction is the materialization of architect's thinking.And "tectonic" is not a simple construction, "tectonic" involves not only the nodes,materials,structural elements,such as building ontology construction.Moreover,the "tectonic" is closely related to the building's historical context,environmental geomorphology,human geography and rich sensibility of the people arising from the building.The paper research the steel buildings from a perspective of tectonic.Discussion of the tectonic form of ontology and representition which is ralated with the steel building's materials,skeleton,node.In this paper,on a brief review of the concept of tectonic's development process,Start a research of today's steel building and related building materials,node and skin construction from the ontology and representition of materials and structure.At last,the author carried out analysis and consideration about the technique of construction,construction order and construction of authenticity involved in the thesis.And,combined with experimental architects of contemporary Chinese architecture practice,pointing out that some of the actual operation on the ambiguity and limitations of the tectonic concept.I hope these analysis for Chinese architects in building ontology,building language and tradition and innovation in the exploration and practice must have some significance.
