Energy is related to the economic development of the country,known as the"blood of industry".China’s economy conforms to the development of the times,can not be separated from energy production and consumption.Due to many complicated factors,energy production and consumption tend to show an unbalanced situation in the spatial pattern distribution.Energy development has always been in the process of continuous dynamic evolution.Because of the unequal development of production and consumption,various economic and social contradictions have been induced.General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that"we should promote the revolution of energy production and consumption" in the report of the Nineteenth National Congress.Deepening the reform of energy structure is not only the key and difficult point in the process of building ecological civilization in China,but also the only way for economic development.Under such background,it is important and urgent to optimize the energy supply and demand structure by taking the spatial evolution as the breakthrough point.The concept of energy barycenter provides a quantitative model for energy spatial evolution.Based on the barycenter model,this paper summarizes the research object as energy scale(total energy)and energy intensity(the ratio of total energy to GDP).Thirty provinces and cities in China(except Hong Kong,Macao,Taiwan and Tibet)from 1997 to 2016 are selected to study the energy spatial evolution from multiple perspectives.The empirical study mainly includes two parts:the first part is the study of the spatial differentiation of energy production and consumption,the second part studies the evolution process of energy production and consumption barycenter.From the empirical results,the following conclusions can be drawn:(1)Comparing the regional differences of energy production and consumption,we find that the regional differences of energy production are greater.In the aspect of energy production,the western region contributes the most;in the aspect of energy consumption,the regional difference is the main factor.(2)The results of the spatial deviation model show that the secondary energy structure is better than the primary energy,and the provinces and cities which are in the leading position in the adjacent provinces are given to facilitate the formulation of different energy reform measures in different regions.(3)The energy barycenter of production and consumption scale has obvious spatial deviation phenomenon,and gradually shifts to the position of geographic barycenter.Comparing the trajectory of energy scale barycenter and economic development barycenter,they both move westward,the former moving faster than the latter.(4)The results of energy production coupling show that the energy production agglomeration in the central and western regions is more advanced than that in the eastern regions,and the energy production agglomeration lags behind the economic agglomeration.The coupling results of energy consumption show that nearly half of the provinces and cities in China are energy-coordinated,and the number of energy-inefficient provinces and cities also has a downward trend.(5)There is a significant spatial deviation between the energy intensity barycenter and the geographic barycenter.Compared with the moving speed of energy production and energy consumption intensity,the annual moving speed of the energy barycenter is faster.(6)The analysis of the driving factors of the energy barycenter shows that there is a negative effect between GDP and the energy barycenter.Population size,industrial structure,technological progress and energy investment are all positively affected,while the industrial structure variables have the greatest impact on it;FDI and the proportion of tertiary industry have little effect on the intensity of energy consumption,while GDP and energy investment are positively affected.Energy consumption intensity is negatively correlated.According to the research conclusion,the following policy implications are put forward:adapting the energy industry according to local conditions,promoting energy reform;balancing regional energy differences between regions;accelerating industrial restructuring and improving energy efficiency;actively developing renewable energy and increasing new energy Industrial investment;high-tech talents are cultivated at the energy production level,and energy conservation policies are popularized at the energy consumption level.In this thesis,the research on the movement of energy barycenter and spatial evolution has some innovations in the research object and methods:(I)expanding and enriching the theoretical system of energy barycenter;(2)defining the types of energy development from the economic level of coupling standards;(3)It is a new theoretical attempt to introduce space deviation share model in the field of energy.The research results can provide a certain scientific basis for the sustainable development of energy,and have important theoretical and practical significance for optimizing energy reform and coordinating energy production and consumption.Although this research has reached the preset goal to a certain extent,there are still some shortcomings in the setting of spatial weight,the classification of energy subdivision,the selection of influencing factors and so on,which are also the direction of future research and learning.
