In recent years, with the strategy of “strong transportation country” and the continuous proposal of establishing a new mechanism for regional coordinated development, new requirements for modernization and networking of transportation industry have been put forward. As far as Shandong Province is concerned,high-speed transportation network has become an important guarantee to promote sustainable and coordinated development of regional spatial pattern in the whole province. This paper combines various disciplines such as transportation economics, space economics, regional economics, economic geography, etc.and takes the three major economic circles of Shandong Province and 16 cities in the whole region as research areas to discuss the development status of high-speed transportation network in 2010,2015 and 2020,and to analyze its coupling relationship with regional spatial pattern and temporal evolution. The paper mainly studies the following aspects:(1)Spatio-temporal evolution of high-speed traffic network accessibilitySelected 2010,2015 and 2020 as research years, classified and sorted the acquired basic data into Arc GIS software, established data sets of highway and high-speed rail integrated network in three economic circles of Shandong Province and the whole region, calculated the shortest route and time of highway based on O-D cost matrix, and obtained the shortest time of high-speed rail through 12306 website.Combining the traffic accessibility level measurement model and GIS spatial analysis method, the traffic accessibility level of each research unit is calculated separately, and the results are visualized in space. The layout characteristics of Shandong high-speed traffic network and the evolution direction of traffic accessibility under different transportation modes are summarized. The research shows that, from 2010 to 2020,the overall accessibility level of the three major economic circles in Shandong Province and 16 cities in Shandong Province has significantly increased, and the distribution of accessibility level in the spatial area shows a "center-periphery" mode over time, which is significantly affected by location factors. The overall traffic accessibility of Shandong Province mainly shows a mode of gradually spreading along the high-speed transportation network with Jinan and Qingdao as the core. From the perspective of different modes of transportation, the construction and improvement of high-speed railway can relatively promote the improvement of traffic accessibility level in Shandong Province.(2)Spatio-temporal evolution of economic connection intensity and total of each research areaAccording to the characteristics of the three major economic circles in Shandong Province and the shortest travel time matrix of expressways in Shandong Province, the shortest travel time matrix of high-speed railways and the economic connection strength and total quantity among the research units of social and economic data analysis, this paper summarizes the evolution characteristics and change rules of three time sections in 2010,2015 and 2020,and combines GIS technology and improved gravity model, the spatial pattern of economic connection intensity and the calculation results of total economic connection in Shandong Province are visualized. The research shows that from 2010 to 2020,the total economic links among the three economic circles in Shandong Province and 16 cities in Shandong Province have increased year by year, and the economic links between most cities and cities have become more and more intensive. The lines between cities with high economic connection basically coincide with the high-speed railway network in Shandong Province. It can be seen that the construction and improvement of high-speed railway has strong economic driving capacity for the areas along the line. The structure of economic connection strength among cities of the same level is mostly line segment, while the structure of triangle or polygon is not obvious, which is not conducive to the further evolution of economic connection strength structure between cities to network.(3)Coupling and Coordination Analysis of Transportation Accessibility and Regional Economic Development Level under Different Transportation ModesCoupling and coordinating analysis is carried out on the three time sections of 2010,2015 and 2020 between expressway network accessibility and total regional economic linkages, highspeed rail network accessibility and total regional economic linkages, and the calculation results are visualized to study the coordination and adaptability of three major economic circles in Shandong Province and the construction of high-speed transportation network and the development of regional spatial pattern in Shandong Province. The research shows that from 2010 to 2020,the coupling degree and coordination level among the three economic circles in Shandong Province and 16 cities in Shandong Province show a relatively balanced development state as a whole. The traffic accessibility level of most cities is higher than that of economic development, and the driving effect of high-speed transportation network on economy is incomplete.Based on the highway network, various researches in each region show obvious “enter-periphery” mode;Based on the high-speed rail network, various studies in each region have shown a mode of diffusion around the high-speed rail axis.High-speed rail has a greater impact on traffic accessibility and economic development than highways.Linyi City,as one of the core leading cities, has been in a low level of coupling and coordination between its high-speed transportation network and regional spatial pattern. It is necessary to continuously improve the city’s economic capacity, enhance its attraction and assume the important task of leading the city as the core in a better condition in the future.
