China is the largest producer of aluminum alloy hub in the world.More and more consumers begin to have personalized demands for the style of hub,so the study on the personalized customization of hub has become a trend.Under the new situation,hub enterprises are also faced with the challenge of achieving personalized customization of hub and retaining the brand feature at the same time.The purpose of this study is to find a method that is suitable for hub enterprises to achieve personalized customization of hub and retain brand feature at the same time,so as to help the enterprises to achieve the goal of continuing brand image,innovating product style and meeting the personalized demands of users.This is also the research emphasis of this paper.Based on the related theories of product design DNA and analogy of heredity and evolution in biology,a design method of characteristics transcription and shape customization is proposed in this paper for the different brand images and morphological characteristics of hub products in the style design.The purpose is to reconstruct the product brand DNA,put forward the concept of four types of DNA molecules and “common characteristic lines”,and construct a characteristics transcription model that supports shape customization of brand hub.The methods of characteristic line extraction,linear analysis and CAID are used in this paper to implement and output the hub shape characteristics transcription of typical hub brands.Firstly,the styling DNA of a specific brand of hub is effectively extracted and classified,and the “common characteristic line” of hub style is determined.Secondly,the software such as Rhino and Grasshopper is used to transform the shape of “common characteristic line” in different ways,obtain a variety of effective common characteristic shapes of hub,and establish the “database of characteristic shape of hub” under the brand,which lays a foundation for the personalized customization of brand hub.Finally,the design method of characteristics transcription and shape customization is applied to the shape customization system design of brand hub.The customized demands for the characteristic shape,details and product mix of brand hub are mainly designed,the user interfaces of brand hub related to personalized customization APP are also designed,and the reasonability and usability of design method of characteristics transcription and shape customization are further verified.This study not only solves the problem of product homogeneity,but also has an important meaning to the improvement of service quality of automobile after-sales market as well as industry transformation and upgrading in China.
