Research On Design Of Guangzhou City Homestay Under The Background Of Traditional Blocks Renewal

With the development of the economy and the tourism industry,the homestays have emerged and developed rapidly as a supplementary form of the hotel accommodation industry.In recent years,the homestays have gradually developed from rural areas to cities.Different from the country homestay,the city homestays are based on the history and culture of the city.Homestays that have been transformed from old residential buildings have been recognized by the market because of their distinctive features and deep cultural heritage.Because the development of the bed and breakfast industry in mainland China is much later,there is not much research on the design of city homestays.People do not realize that the development of the homestays have the positive impact of the activation of the traditional blocks renewal.They have also neglected the reservation of the cultural spirit and historical features of the city while building the homestays.This paper starts with the origin of the homestays,sorting out the domestic and international theoretical development and research,trying to define and classify " city homestays ",researching domestic and international city homestays.Based on the theoretical and practical experience gained from the above research,combined with the characteristics and specific conditions of traditional blocks in Guangzhou,this paper tried to propose a design strategy and design method for the Guangzhou city homestays under the background of urban traditional blocks renewal in terms of policies,operations,space design,and technology.
